Main Responsibilities
As the Archiving Platform Owner, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the archiving platform to meet the organization’s needs for data retention, retrieval, and compliance. You will oversee the administration of archiving systems, including data storage, backup, and disaster recovery, while implementing and maintaining best practices for data integrity, security, and accessibility.
Ensuring that the platform adheres to GxP regulations, you will work closely with Quality Assurance and Regulatory teams to align archiving processes with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will implement security measures like encryption, access controls, and audit trails to protect archived data, and you will conduct regular audits and validations to maintain compliance.
Your role will also involve collaborating with IT, Compliance, and Business teams to align the archiving platform with business objectives, providing training and support on archiving best practices, and serving as the primary point of contact for all archiving-related matters. Furthermore, you will continuously assess and improve the platform’s performance, develop and implement automation tools to streamline archiving processes, and integrate the platform with other systems to enhance operational efficiency. In the event of platform-related incidents, you will lead the response efforts, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and license management, ensuring cost-effective utilization of archiving services.
About You
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications in Archiving Technologies, GxP Compliance, or relevant fields are a plus.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience managing archiving platforms in a GxP-regulated environment.
- Proven track record of implementing archiving best practices and ensuring compliance with GxP regulations.
- Strong understanding of data integrity, security practices, and regulatory requirements in a healthcare or pharmaceutical setting.
- Experience with archiving technologies and platforms such as OpenText, IBM Content Manager, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with cloud-based archiving solutions and their integration with on-premises systems.
Skills:
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external vendors.
- Experience in project management, with the ability to lead platform-related projects from inception to completion.
Soft Skills Required:
- Leadership experience with the ability to guide and mentor technical teams.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to foresee potential challenges and develop proactive solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest archiving technologies, regulatory trends, and security practices.
