The “Portfolio Manager LATAM” plays a pivotal role in strategically managing the portfolio of mature or established pharmaceutical products. This position involves analyzing market dynamics, optimizing product performance, and guaranteeing the implementation of strategies to maximize BOI and extend product lifecycle, to achieve our financial commitments and extend our therapies to our patients. This position will be responsible of a cross-multicountry scope of all the countries in the MCO LATAM, being accountable for more than 100 million Euros.

Main responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Analysis and Strategy Development: Conduct comprehensive analysis of the company's portfolio of established products, including sales performance, market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory factors. Develop strategic plans to enhance the performance and profitability of established products. Develop marketing plan for the promoted products.
  • Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of established products from maturity to decline, identifying opportunities for portfolio optimization (pruning and divestment) and developing lifecycle management strategies to sustain product relevance and market competitiveness, aligned with global guidelines.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams: to identify local opportunities, implement pricing adjustments, adjust commercial conditions, GTN optimizations. and evaluation of different business models such as export or distribution, to maintain competitiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Trade & Revenue management team, marketing, regulatory, supply chain, legal, quality, compliance, and finance to align portfolio management strategies with corporate objectives and ensure effective execution of initiatives.
  • Guarantee product availability: an accurate forecast is fundamental to guarantee product availability which is key in the management of products with 0 or very limited promotional investment. It is essential to understand supply chain’s processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing the marketing, distribution, and sale of pharmaceutical products. Collaborate with regulatory team to address regulatory issues and maintain product compliance.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track key performance indicators for established products, including sales performance, market share and profitability.
  • Compliance: Respects corporate commitment and compliance guidelines. Ensure that all products within the portfolio comply. Monitor product compliance and work closely with Pharmacovigilance.

About you

  • Experience: Several years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry 
  • Soft and technical skills: Knowledge of management of a product portfolio including the product's features, benefits, competitive landscape, and its place in the overall product portfolio
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to process and interpret market data, financial reports, and sales metrics to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective portfolio strategies.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing principles, product lifecycle management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Pharmaceutical market dynamics, competitive landscape, and emerging trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
