As part of Medley's procurement team, the manager drives category strategy, strategic sourcing implementation, and operational excellence. Compliant with corporate procedures and best practices.

Main Responsibilities:
Category Management and Strategic Sourcing Deployment
Drive the development of Category Management for the responsible category (mostly direct materials, however, indirect materials expertise will be appreciated).
Develop market intelligence practices (dynamics and trends) and continuously evaluate and analyze the supplier market.
Capture category innovation early and assess potential in the Medley environment with the support of relevant stakeholders.
Effectively implement sourcing strategies for all sub-category spend
Business partnership
Develop robust business partnerships and conduct stakeholder management to meet business needs appropriately.
Develop and implement solid business engagement plans.
Supplier Lifecycle Management and Supplier Relationship Management
Develop a supplier resource matrix to identify the business and resources of existing and new suppliers.
Segment suppliers into distinct groups and define relevant supplier strategies.
Manage the Supplier Relationship Management process with the main strategic partners, and Establish risk mitigation plans when needed.
Operational activities
Manage regional and local category procurement activities, including demand management and the shopping experience.
Demand Management
Elaboration of a demand plan aligned with the business and the strategy of the category
Build a solid project and savings pipeline during the budget cycle and maintain it throughout the year
Constructively challenge demand and shape it to deliver maximum value to our business.
Source-to-Pay (shopping experience)
Design and execute a competitive bidding process for the category project to obtain the best overall value-added solutions from candidate vendors.
Evaluate suppliers' competitive offerings and develop negotiation strategies that meet business requirements.
Conduct an in-depth cost analysis to develop targeted savings initiatives through various means of cost reduction
Partnering with legal, compliance, and finance teams for the successful completion of complex deals
Deliver cost savings and reductions and track them in a reporting system to ensure that the savings negotiated are transformed into realized, real savings.
Managers
• Promote the culture of Ethics and Business Integrity in your team by serving as a role model by ensuring appropriate knowledge and adherence to the principles of ethics and integrity, Sanofi policies and codes of conduct that regulate the pharmaceutical market.
• Comply with and promote Sanofi Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies in relation to the team it manages, which includes the Road Safety Program (Road Safety) with the purpose of preventing accidents, avoiding health risks, promoting the well-being of employees and reducing environmental impacts resulting from the execution of their work activities.
• Support Sanofi Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy and initiatives to ensure all employees and partners are treated with respect and receive equal opportunities.
About You
Experience: Experience in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing.
Technical and personal skills: The position requires a sourcing professional who can develop relationships within and between the different lines of business and throughout the procurement organization; Strong knowledge of RFx (Request for Information / Proposal / Quotation) processes; Proven track record in leading key commercial and legal negotiations; Strong understanding of legal contracts, including service level agreements, fixed price agreements, or formula for direct materials; Experience in eSourcing and eProcurement tools (SAP/ERP); Teamwork with excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills; Knowledge and experience in managing local projects and contracts; Intermediate knowledge of Finance and Cost Analysis.
Education: Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, Business Administration or Finance; Postgraduate (preferably Engineering, Business Administration or Finance).
Languages: Fluent in English and Portuguese.
