Pharmacovigilance Manager and Country Safety Head Ireland

  • Location: Dublin, Ireland
  • Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

Main responsibilities:

  • To manage a team and ensure accurate and timely processing of all safety information, maintain processes, compliance, training and systems in line with legislation/company procedures in order to ensure an efficient IE pharmacovigilance [PV] service.
  • This includes but is not limited to Individual and aggregate reports, local signal detection, safety agreements, local literature monitoring, and local risk management activities.
  • Ensure the effective support of clinical or post authorisation study activities, Patient support programmes, Digital programmes and/or Market Research programmes in relation to PV activities.
  • Ensure that all processes and IE PV systems (including training) follow regulations and global company policies.
  • Ensure all processes and data are always kept in an inspection and audit ready condition.
  • Effectively support the creation, monitoring, review, and tracking of all quality documentation within the PV department.
  • To ensure timely resolution of corrective and preventative actions for safety related issues and or timely escalation to Head of PV and/or regional/global PV representative in accordance with company procedures.
  • Effectively support the Head of PV with the management of all internal and external training provided by the IE-PV departments.
  • Maintain and provide a current understanding of Good PV practise/legislation and industry best practises, including innovative approaches to problem solving and/or change management.
  • To foster and facilitate accurate and timely communication and effective collaboration between other Business unit functions across Sanofi entities (local and global) and IE PV Departments.
  • Ensure all PV data are presented accurately, persuasively, support objectives and are an   effective expenditure of resources.
  • Ensure timely and effective vendor oversight and day to day management.
  • Ensure the adherence to contractual responsibilities and performance management targets.
  • Manage and motivate direct reports, recruit high caliber PV professionals, train, coach and develop direct reports, according to company policies, and ensure relevant People and culture procedures are followed (appraisals, discipline, grievance etc.).
  • Adheres to company-defined processes for the selection of an agreement of commercial terms with vendors.
  • Leads the building of a motivated and engaged team through the use of formal and informal recognition, regular communications and the encouragement of cooperation between individuals and teams.
  • Support with budget activities where appropriate.
  • Ensure non-PV assigned company objectives are achieved.

About you

  • Degree in life sciences or qualification as a health professional (e.g., pharmacy technician, pharmacist, nurse).
  • Substantial prior experience in drug safety, PV, quality, regulatory, pharmacy, nursing, or medical fields.
  • Experience with PV/GxP systems/databases and interaction with Health Authorities recommended.
  • Sound understanding of pharmacovigilance principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to recognise potential issues and propose solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
