Within the Medical Operations & Effectiveness Team, we are uniquely positioned to drive transformation and operational excellence to deliver upon the General Medicines ambition and chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives.

As member of the Global Performance & Excellence team, the Medical Performance and Excellence Lead will drive data analytics excellence by developing digital analytics solutions able to transform complex data into actionable insights, to drive evidence-based decision-making, and to enhance operational efficiency. This role combines technical expertise with strategic vision to optimize medical activities through innovative digital solutions aligned with business goals and priorities, while fostering cross-functional collaboration.

The successful candidate will combine consolidated expertise in medical affairs, analytical expertise with strategic thinking, possess strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences, and demonstrate the ability to drive digital innovation while building collaborative relationships across the organization.

Main responsibilities:

• Apply medical affairs expertise to design and implement sophisticated analytics frameworks that transform data into compelling narratives, enabling data-driven decision making and measuring the impact of medical activities
• Leverage deep medical affairs knowledge to spearhead the creation and deployment of innovative digital tools and analytical frameworks that transform data into strategic insights. Design comprehensive solutions that enhance evidence-based decision-making processes across GenMed Medical, ensuring alignment with therapeutic area strategies and medical objectives
• Develop visualization tools and dashboards that translate complex unstructured data into clear, actionable insights. Design intuitive interfaces that enable medical affairs representatives and other stakeholders to interpret complex information, facilitating strategic decisions and improving communication of key findings
• Evaluate suitable technologies and platforms to identify optimal solutions for integrating diverse data sources. Provide expert recommendations on systems that can effectively consolidate information from different countries and regions, ensuring seamless data integration and accessibility
• Conduct thorough evaluations of emerging technologies to determine their potential impact and value for the organization. Analyze how new digital tools could enhance operational efficiency, data analysis capabilities, and strategic decision-making
• Lead the development of analytics methodologies that extract meaningful insights from datasets. Establish robust frameworks to track Progress of initiatives and measure their impact
• Implement technologies that enable real-time monitoring of medical activities and associated budgets, ensuring these tools provide timely visibility into performance metrics to support agile decision-making
• Refine and enhance data collection methodologies and analytical tools to generate high-quality insights that inform strategic planning
• Implement automated reporting solutions that reduce manual effort while increasing accuracy, consistency, and relevance of updates across the organization
• Design and implement systems that reduce administrative burden, minimize errors, and allow teams to focus on higher-value strategic activities
• Lead digital upskilling initiatives to enhance digital fluency across the organization
• Ensure alignment with internal IT policies and capitalize on existing systems and infrastructure
• Foster cross-functional collaboration between Global Business Units to identify synergies and leverage collective expertise, embodying our One Sanofi approach
• Coordinate Business Operations support for critical initiatives throughout their lifecycle as needed, to ensure timely resource allocation and execution

About you

Education:

• Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. BS, MS, PhD, PharmD, MD, DVM) or related degree

Experience:

• Pharmaceutical industry experience including at least 4 years in Medical Affairs
• Demonstrated experience in managing performance metrics systems, specifically the ability to operate centralized data platforms for KPI/KII tracking and analytics across the Medical organization, including metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of medical affairs activities and scientific communication, and to measure progress in the implementation of the strategic and transformative roadmap for Medical
• Experience applying digital analytics in healthcare or pharmaceutical settings
• Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• “Futurist" mindset to anticipate how digital technologies will evolve and impact ways of working
• Ability to navigate organizational dynamics and build cross-functional partnerships
• Balance between technical expertise and strategic business understanding
• Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast paced environments
• Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to challenge status quo
• Multidisciplinary and/or cross-functional project leadership experience advantageous

Soft skills:

• Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and scientific stakeholders
• Good communicator and facilitator, and ability to bring different perspectives and needs together
• Highly organized and able to aid team to navigate information
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Pragmatic and able to design practical solutions
• Able to prioritize activities based on strategic relevance and value

Technical skills:

• Experience with key analytics and data visual platforms (including Google Analytics, Power BI) as well as with the cloud-based platform Smartsheet (expert level required)
• Generative AI, data, technology and analytics

Languages:

• Fluent spoken and written English
