Medical Science Liaison

We never settle and now we are creating a new paradigm with a first-in-class therapy in Autoimmune Diabetes (Type 1 Diabetes).

Our newest core asset, resulting from the acquisition of Prevention Bio in General Medicines Autoimmune Type 1 Diabetes space, aims at delaying the onset of stage 3 type 1 diabetes. This means that for the first time, people at risk of developing this lifelong disease have fresh hope. What delayed onset means is more time for children to be children with less healthcare and more care-free childhood. The delay also gives families and healthcare professionals more time to prepare care plans for a later diagnosis.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and visionary scientific leader to serve as a MSL with expertise in for T1D. This role combines deep scientific expertise with strategic thinking to enhance the identification and management of people at risk of developing T1D, emphasizing the benefits of early detection and the use of new immunomodulators.

As a MSL - Autoimmune T1D Specialist, you will be the trusted scientific partner for external experts and decision-makers, while also contributing to the development and implementation of screening and monitoring strategies as well as engaging with experts in new therapies such as immunomodulators. This dual focus position will drive both scientific exchange and strategic initiatives to improve early identification and management of T1D.

Main responsibilities:

Scientific Leadership & KOL Engagement

• Serve as trusted scientific partner to key external experts (including KOLs, endocrinologists, pediatricians, and other scientific stakeholders), establishing and maintaining robust, long-term peer relationships

• Conduct high-touch scientific exchange with experts from Centers of Excellence and beyond to convey a compelling and highly scientific narrative on T1D disease stages, importance of screening and treatment

• Engage with experts to share scientific data, answer product-specific questions, and support them in developing best practices (e.g., infusion protocols)

• Link internal partners to external thought leaders for education and research collaboration

• Disseminate innovative medical education materials and foster medical/scientific information exchange within the medical community

• Tailor engagement to different stakeholder segments based on comprehensive stakeholder mapping and local go-to-market model • Work with cross-functional teams to leverage an omnichannel approach, orchestrating high-touch and personalized engagement across innovative channels (e.g., social media, peer-to-peer communities, online portals)

Early Detection Strategy

• Collaborate with medical teams to develop and implement evidence-based screening and monitoring protocols

• Provide scientific expertise in the development of risk-identification strategies

• Support the adaptation of global screening and monitoring strategies to local contexts

• Contribute to the scientific validation of new testing methodologies and channels

• Engage with experts to promote best practices in screening and early intervention

• Promote experience sharing among key external experts to reinforce consensus on screening and treatment protocols at local level

Strategic Implementation

• Partner with cross-functional teams in agile settings with self-organized teams around main customer accounts to improve patient pathways and remove barriers

• Provide scientific input on screening partnerships and initiatives

• Gather and analyze field insights to inform medical strategy and screening programs

• Support Market Access teams in evidence-based discussions with regional payers, drug formulary committees, and key account decision-makers on clinical value and health economics

• Coordinate and direct requests for ISS, RCT, Managed Access Programs to appropriate teams

• Keep up-to-date on medical and scientific developments in the Type 1 Diabetes field

Individual Contributors

  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with the principles of Ethics and Integrity, Sanofi policies, and codes of conduct that regulate the pharmaceutical market.

  • Comply with and promote Sanofi's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, with the objective of preventing accidents, avoiding health risks, promoting employee well-being, and reducing environmental impacts resulting from work activities.

  • Support Sanofi's Diversity and Inclusion strategy and initiatives to ensure that all employees and partners are treated with respect and receive equal opportunities.

About you

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as MSL in Specialty / Rare disease / Type 1 Diabetes area

  • Experience in T1D or immunology highly preferred

  • Background in clinical research or academic setting

  • Experience with population health initiatives or screening programs is a plus

Technical skills:

  • Advanced understanding of T1D clinical science and current research

  • Expertise in interpreting and communicating complex scientific data

  • Knowledge of screening methodologies and monitoring protocols

  • Understanding of healthcare systems and population health approaches

Education:

  • Advanced degree required (MD, PharmD, PhD) in relevant scientific or medical field

  • Additional training in public health or population health management preferred

Language: Advanced English required.
