Scientist - VIE Contract
- Location: Canada, Toronto
- Target start date: 01/08/2026
iMove, the Sanofi VIE Program, is available to citizens of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28.
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

About the job
As Scientist VIE within our Analytical Sciences team, you will interpret and plan experiments with minimal supervision, to communicate and work effectively in teams, while maintaining attention to strict industry and department compliance. You will be required to work within the policies, procedures and regulations as required by the company and under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Analytical Sciences Immunology is participating in a global company initiative to design tests for vaccine product testing to replace/reduce/refine animal testing (e.g. ELISAs, Biolayer interferometry, Flow cytometry, cell-based assays) and panels of antibodies that are characterized for functionality, binding, and utility in relevant in vitro assays designed to reduce or replace animal testing.

Main responsibilities:
- The position involves performing techniques related to immunological /immunochemical analyses of vaccine antigens, antibody reagents, and providing laboratory logistics support.
- Supports vaccine antigen and overall vaccine characterization and investigation requests using in vitro and /or in vivo immunological and/or cell-based methods including (but not limited to) ELISAs, antibody-based assays involving various sensor platforms (e.g. Biolayer interferometry), neutralization assays, binding assays, cell-based assays.
- Supports documentation review and archiving process for equipment, sample and reagent logbooks, laboratory notebooks and data binders. Supports pipette and equipment calibration and preventive maintenance program.
- Supports equipment installation, operation and performance qualification activities. Supports new technology feasibility assessment activities. Supports Platform training documentation process.
- Ensures that key information and issues are communicated with Scientific Platform manager(s) and relevant stakeholders.
- Supports initiatives or task forces within platform or department. Participates fully in Platform and Department meetings.
- Promotes communication and good teamwork to ensure flexibility in the workplace, and to support the completion of the objectives.
About you
Experience:
- Experience in basic immunology, cell biology, biochemistry, and/or microbiology laboratory techniques.
- Knowledge of statistical tools (R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) would be an advantage.
Soft and Technical skills:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills.
- Solid analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
- Strong project management skills including organization, time management, and follow-up.
- Able to work independently and in collaboration with others.
Education:
- Master’s degree in in Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or equivalent.
Languages:
- Fluent English (written and verbal).
