Communications-Communications Manager, China-Shanghai

JOB PURPOSE:

The position holder will manage the corporate media relations strategy and programs under One Sanofi brand. In this role, in line with the company's and Corporate Affairs strategic priorities, you will help define and implement impactful media corporate actions, to ensure the smartest distribution of company news, as well as provide guidance and support to the media relations carried out in BUs. You will also monitor and analyze the media landscape and trends, and advise on the best media approaches and channels to enhance Sanofi's reputation and visibility in China.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develop and execute the corporate media relations strategy and plan, in alignment with the global media guidelines and policies, and the local business objectives and priorities.
• Manage the corporate media relations budget and resources, and ensure the effective and efficient use of media agencies and vendors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and journalists, and proactively pitch and place positive stories about Sanofi's corporate initiatives, achievements, and thought leadership.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality media materials, such as press releases, Q&A, briefing documents, speeches, and op-eds, in both English and Chinese.
• Organize and coordinate media events and activities, such as press conferences, media briefings, media tours, and interviews, and ensure the proper preparation and coaching of the spokespersons.
• Provide media support and guidance to the BUs and functions, and ensure the consistency and coherence of the media messages and tone of voice across the organization.
• Monitor and evaluate the media coverage and sentiment, and provide regular reports and insights on the media performance and impact.
• Anticipate and manage potential media issues and crises, and develop and implement appropriate media responses and actions.
• Keep abreast of the media trends and developments, and identify and leverage new media opportunities and channels to amplify Sanofi's voice and presence in the market.

JOB-HOLDER REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or above in journalism, communications, public relations, or related fields.

Experience & knowledge & Competencies:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in media relations, corporate communications, or public affairs, preferably in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
• Excellent media relations skills and network, with proven track record of securing positive media coverage and exposure for corporate stories and topics.
• Strong writing and editing skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling media materials.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver effective media messages and coach the spokespersons.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to plan and execute media events and activities with high quality and efficiency.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to monitor and evaluate the media performance and impact, and handle media issues and crises.
• Strong team player and collaborator, with the ability to work well with different stakeholders and partners across the organization and externally.
• Passionate, proactive, and creative, with the ability to identify and leverage new media opportunities and channels.
• Agile, adaptable, and resilient, with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
