Main responsibilities

• Partner with Japan Leadership Team and Business Heads to provide timely compliance advisory, risk assessment, and solutions for complex projects involving multiple or ambiguous policy requirements.

• Implement and monitor the E&BI program — including governance, training, monitoring, and helpline — while embedding ethics into daily operations and supporting sound decision-making across the business.

• Deploy risk management frameworks to identify potential compliance risks and build mitigation strategies that address root causes, without limiting the business's ability to pursue its strategy.

• Ensure timely and appropriate implementation of global compliance policies and standards in Japan, in alignment with local regulations, and continuously explore opportunities to simplify and modernize processes through digitalization and automation.

• Oversee the reporting and investigation of potential violations of laws, regulations, and the code of conduct, working with Global E&BI on resolution strategies.

• Represent Sanofi in industry ethics committees — including JPMA, JFTC, and EFPIA Japan — to help shape the compliance environment in line with Sanofi's strategy.

• Lead special projects and drive continuous improvement in compliance processes, acting as a catalyst for corporate initiatives and contributing to a culture of self-driven ethical behavior.

About you

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal, or Life Sciences.

• 3+ years of experience in compliance within pharmaceutical or healthcare multinational companies, with a solid understanding of the industry's regulatory landscape and healthcare business operations in Japan.

• Deep knowledge of applicable local and international laws, regulations, and pharmaceutical industry codes, combined with strong business acumen and a solution-oriented mindset.

• High ethical standards with the ability to act as a role model, lead and influence across cultures and functions, and build strong relationships and networks.

• Excellent risk assessment and problem-solving capabilities, with strategic agility and the ability to make sound, fact-based decisions using independent judgment.

• Comfortable embracing change, learning new systems, and contributing to Sanofi's modernization and digitalization roadmap.

• Fluent in both English and Japanese, with excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
