With a focus on Immunology, which also includes innovations in the areas of diabetes and transplantation medicine, we strive for progress to make a real impact on millions of patients worldwide. The Gen Med Cluster Insulins Team is committed to setting the highest standards to help diabetes patients worldwide improve their lives by offering innovative and affordable solutions. 

The API Unit, located in the Höchst Industrial Park, employs 1000 staff, including transversal functions, and is part of the Insulin Campus Frankfurt (ICF), with approximately 3600 employees. Continuous improvement programs and initiatives are carried out in the existing operations to meet the increasing regulatory requirements for biological active ingredients. In this context, the water system in one of the production facilities is being adapted and improved. For this purpose, a >15 million investment project is being implemented. 

In this position you will have end-to-end responsibility for the project: implementation of purified water pyrogen free in MIB including budget responsibility. You will lead cross-functional project teams according to Sanofi project management standards and implement the project portfolio from concept to operational use. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Design and Deliver an end-to-end project for a compliance improvement within API manufacturing regarding water systems, from basic engineering to detailed design in accordance with EHS, quality, business & user requirements; with a focus on design to cost solutions  
  • Collaborate with transversal functions (EHS, operations & quality, procurement, legal and others)  
  • Lead engineering teams to deliver on time and in full & reach project objectives (PI&D, Specification, Functional analysis, …) 
  • Governance and Leadership: define effective governance with the project team and strengthen leadership and organizational capabilities 
  • Risk Management: anticipate, identify, and manage project risks by creating and tracking action plans 
  • Build and sustain high performance team (internal & external)  

About you:

  • Experience: experience in project management within pharmaceutical Tier 1 projects > 15 m€; 5+ years experience working in cGMP environment; experience in managing engineering contracts & brownfield execution and in working within international requirements regarding API manufacturing according to US/EU regulations 
  • Soft and technical skills: in depth knowledge of biological processes including water systems; excellent problem solver, ability to generate innovative solutions; collaborate effectively across the organization and build strong relationships to positively impact project results; translate business requirements into technical solutions; strong collaboration skills 
  • Education: Master’s degree/diploma in Chemical, Biotech Process Engineering or equivalent;
  • Languages:  fluent in German and English
