About the job

Our Team:

The Global HEVA team is part of the Vaccine Global Market Access Department, within Franchise & Product Strategy. The department aims to plan and generate robust evidence in order to maximize the value propositions of our vaccines.

The Global Health Economics & Value Assessment (HEVA) manager, will support plan and generate robust evidence in order to maximize the value propositions of assigned vaccine of interest, under the supervision of the HEVA Head and working closely with Market Access and Pricing colleagues.

Main responsibilities:

Health Economics strategy, evidence generation and recommendation and reimbursement support:

The global HEVA Manager will work with the HEVA Head and the HEVA RSV team on the definition of the health economics strategy and evidence generation planning of the vaccine of interest (RSV).  He/She will deliver quality research projects, economic models, trial design recommendations and other activities in support of programs/products in their assigned vaccine of interest (RSV). The incumbent interfaces with Market access and Pricing, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Medical Evidence Generation and business partners including Franchise, Brand teams and project teams and Market Access at regional and local levels.

He/she is accountable for the planning, design, implementation, and completion of innovative evidence-based research programs that are consistent with Sanofi Vaccines GBU strategies. The research programs developed will provide appropriate evidence and/or tools to be used for internal decision making and for external audiences at product launch and over product life cycle with the ultimate goal to support market access activities (i.e., recommendation and funding).

Within the GBLT and GMax team, she/he contributes to defining product strategy being part of regular and ad hoc discussions occurring at global (GBT meeting, LEx) and country (GMAx subteam, Glocal forums) levels.

Minimum requirements within this job function:

  • Collaborate with the HEVA RSV team members for the efforts related with the alliance with Astra Zeneca
  • Support the execution of high quality HEVA deliverables: Payer Evidence Generation Plan, Systematic literature review, Cost of disease studies, Core Value Dossier, and Economic Models (inc. disease transmission models, cost-effectiveness and/or budget impact model, etc.) in a timely manner in order to provide cost-effective price, expected public health and economic impact of vaccination strategies for recommendations bodies (NITAG), reimbursement, payer objection handling and other purposes
  • Set strategic evidence generation priorities and direction for assigned responsibilities, to be incorporated into appropriate planning documents such as integrated evidence generation plan (iEGP)
  • Responsible for working collaboratively with Global Market Access & Pricing to support development of Market Access Plan, Value Story & Messaging. Member of the Vaccine GMAx Sub-team
  • Execute approved HEVA studies and drive new HEVA evidence generation opportunities to maximize successful launches (from pre-development to late R&D stage) and lifecycle management both internally and externally:
    • Provide input to clinical, epidemiological, and medical teams regarding opportunities to execute HEVA strategies within their planned research activities by identifying the appropriate evidence to collect and report
    • Serve as a resource to commercial organization in terms of pricing, positioning and reimbursement of products based on economic evaluations
    • Support the development of Target Value Proposition (TVP) and integrated evidence generation plan (iEGP)
    • Support R&D in the decision-making process for portfolio prioritization, Target Product Profile and Target Value Proposition definition through modeling and economic analyses
    • Develops collaborative research relationships that provide data of value to decision makers
    • Leverages interactions to identify strategies that will improve the impact of research and build advocates for data
  • Assist countries in developing or adapting health economic models, studies or any other HEOR materials required by for recommendations bodies (NITAG), HTA purposes, reimbursement, payer objection handling in coordination with internal customers and external partners
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders including Medical Affairs, Medical Evidence Generation, MEDS (global and regional teams) and support the development of integrated evidence generation plan
  • Ensure timely peer-reviewed publications and communication in congresses

All incumbents are expected to demonstrate effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. The incumbent is expected to work independently, but in concert with the direction provided by their management, in accordance with defined functional policies and precedents, budgetary guidelines, company values, ethics and applicable law.

About you

Experience:

  • MD, Pharm D or PhD with experience in Health Economics or related field. Candidate with other qualifications must be able to demonstrate a strong scientific Background
  • Previous experience in vaccine or infectious diseases is an asset
  • Experience in HEOR in pharmaceutical industry, CRO or academic experience
  • Knowledge of methods and principles of health economics, health technology assessment (HTA) reviews
  • Understanding in clinical development principles, epidemiology, biostatistics
  • Global experience is a must

Skills and Competences:

  • Knowledge of methods and principles of health economics, health technology assessment (HTA) reviews
  • Advanced competency with MS Excel
  • Expertise in static and dynamic transmission models is a must
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills to translate clinical and economic information and messages into payer evidence strategies
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional team
  • Proven track record working successfully in a project/matrix-oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to understand and present complex information in digestible ways for internal stakeholders
  • Strong team spirit, sense of transversality, multicultural awareness and ability to drive matrix teams
