Join our RNA Science Automation Unitas Automation Scientist – DNA & mRNAand you’ll be at the forefront of automation screening, generating DNA and mRNA using cutting-edge robotics. Your responsibilities include developing new protocols, ensuring product quality, and collaborating closely with data flow scientist to facilitate seamless data automation.

Our team screens over hundreds of candidates monthly, supporting transversal operational teams, new vaccine projects, and mRNA platform improvements. We work closely with external companies, academic institutions, and other research teams, process development teams, and analytical science teams to drive innovation and excellence.

Main responsibilities

  • Execute, propose and lead different projects (screening, research, evaluation, collaboration), actively participating in the production of mRNA and DNA in the lab
  • Develop new automation protocols and improve current standards, ensuring high-quality results
  • Collaborate and report results locally and globally within the mRNA CoE and other entities. Communicate and work efficiently with the other member of the unit and department
  • Manage projects and support agile methodologies within the operational team’s activities (Transversal Teams) and/or the unit RNA Science Automation
  • Take responsibility of managing the lab: ensure maintenance and installation of equipment, management of samples, reagents and inventory, ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Provide clear scientific reports and propose new research ideas, detailed documentation and track of the experimental work on the e-lab notebook (Benchling), with the potential to mentor students

About you

  • Experience and Education
    • PhD in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Virology, or a related science
    • Deep understanding of IVT mRNA vaccines production, quality controls, requirements, with special focus on research activities
    • At least 1 year of proven experience working with liquid handling instruments in molecular biology workflows, Venus Software and risk machine
    • Previous experience on the use of Benchling as e-lab notebook and on working with Agile methodology will be highly recommended
  • Soft skills
    • Communication, Collaboration, and Problem-Solving: The ideal candidate will excel in clear communication, effective collaboration with team members and external partners, and possess strong problem-solving skills to identify and develop innovative solutions
    • Adaptability, Attention to Detail, and Time Management: The candidate should be highly adaptable to new protocols and technologies, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines. Critical thinking, leadership, ethical judgment, and resilience are also essential to handle challenges and maintain high standards of ethics and compliance
  • Language: Fluent in French and English is mandatory to work with the different teams located in France and worldwide
