Collaborate closely with maintenance, engineering, and production team to ensure electrical systems operate safely and efficiently to support production operation. Responsible for the installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing of electrical systems and equipment in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation to support continuous production.

Main Responsibilities:
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility electrical systems including lighting, distribution panels, switchgear, backup generators, and UPS systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, identifying root causes of malfunctions in production equipment, clean rooms, HVAC systems, boilers, and chillers.
Support installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment ensuring safety and cGMP compliance.
Repair or replace faulty electrical components, wiring, motors, drives, transformers, circuit breakers, and control panel components.
Utilize advanced testing equipment and diagnostic tools like multimeters and megohmmeter to identify electrical issues.
Interpret Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) ladder logic programs and troubleshoot relay logic circuits to diagnose and resolve automation-related issues.
Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair MCC and VFDs
Analyze electrical schematics and technical manuals to pinpoint problems and develop effective solutions.
Work with low and high voltage, 480VAC systems which require strict adherence to safety protocols.
Perform all aspects of electrical installation, troubleshooting and repair from lightbulb replacement to complex wiring on pharmaceutical and utility systems.
Ability to communicate and work constructively with other departments and teams.
Demonstrate sound organizational, written and oral communications skills.
Participate in deviation and root cause investigations as required.
Utilize a CMMS to accurately document the completion of all maintenance activities.
HSE
Demonstrate sound organizational, written and oral communications skills.
Ensure department’s commitment to safety and safety culture is always followed.
Must promote a safe working environment for employees and contractors working in their area.
The individual must support all Sanofi and site HSE policies as well as ensure that work performed is compliant with local HSE regulations.
Individuals must complete all required HSE trainings. Everyone is required to report all accidents and incidents and support investigations in their areas of responsibility. Individuals must ensure timely closure of electrical HSE actions.
About You
Education/Experience
- High School diploma, GED.
- Active New Jersey Qualified Journeyman Electrician License in good standing.
Basic Qualifications:
Strong understanding and compliance to Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Confined Space Entry, work at height, and Electrical Safety programs.
Familiar with OSHA, National Electrical Code, and local codes
Able to wear all required safety equipment, i.e. safety glasses, hard hat, safety shoes, ARC Flash gear, safety gloves, etc.
Be able to read and follow electrical drawings, schematics and P&IDs.
Five years of experience working with tools to install, troubleshoot, repair and alter lighting, power, heating and manufacturing related equipment.
Be able to install and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFD).
Knowledgeable in Allen Bradley PLCs.
Be able to install and troubleshoot servo motors.
1st shift position but must be available for after-hour emergency call in including weekends and holidays
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs, and work on a ladder safely using PPE
Preferred Qualifications:
Active New Jersey Master Electrician License in good standing
Five (or more) years experience working in a maintenance capacity in a pharmaceutical or industrial manufacturing environment or other regulated environment.
Five (or more) years experience with mechanical, electrical and automated packaging and aseptic fill equipment.
Must be able to work as part of a team and work with minimal supervision.
Clearly communicate issues and resolutions to management, peers and first shift maintenance team.
Knowledge of pumps, motors, gear boxes, and drives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge and experience with syringe and high speed vial filling equipment
Knowledge of change control, Infor EAM CMMS, E-Beam, PLC, calibration.
Aseptic gown qualified
