About the job

In partnership with EDB, we are hiring talented young Talents to join our Biologics manufacturing facility. In this dedicated program, you will be trained in our state-of-the art manufacturing facilities at our Massachusetts Biocampus (MBC) in Framingham, Massachusetts, United States.

You will be expected to commit at least 12 months and to up to 18 months to be based in United States.

Manufacturing Science and Analytical Technology (MSAT) is a global function which drives the industrialization and the improvement of biological processes and products. It embarks new technologies and digital trends. It is the keeper of manufacturing process knowledge. MSAT is at the crossroad of R&D and production. It is a multi-disciplinary function that provides expertise in process, manufacturing sciences, process modeling, statistical analysis, process validation and technology transfer.

Your job, as MSAT Scientist Trainee within our Sanofi MSAT department in Singapore, will be to gain and develop hands-on expertise in upstream or downstream development/scale-down activities, pilot-scale and manufacturing sciences. At MBC, the trainees will work on both new projects and ongoing activities supporting new molecule introduction, technology transfer and process investigations. With the strong network and technical expertise build in MBC, the trainees will greatly contribute to create & prepare the MSAT laboratory to aid technology transfer, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities when they return to Singapore. 

Main responsibilities:

·       Receive training in scientific concepts and hands-on techniques of appropriate upstream or downstream bioprocess equipment (integrated continuous biomanufacturing when possible), in order to carry out activities independently.

·       Work with appointed mentor (or delegate) to support or (co)author straightforward MSAT technical documents (e.g. protocols, reports, memos) to support (i) new product development, (ii) second generation process development, (iii) scale-down studies for investigation purposes, (iv) technology transfer, (v) process improvements.

·       Be familiar with daily MSAT lab operations.

·       Contribute to technology transfer/ MSAT lab project by supporting receiving unit and sending unit MSAT representatives in knowledge transfer and compilation/drafting of documentation.

·       Support deliverables leading to the CAPEX project stage-gates and operational readiness of receiving unit’s MSAT lab.

·       Arrange check-in’s with mentor (or delegate) and participate in appropriate team meetings to (i) track and review project progress, (ii) receive training and coaching on bioprocess know-how and navigating business settings.

·       Share learnings and project progress by connecting with Singapore team regularly.

·       Build and promote systems and tools for (i) standardization concepts & implementation, (ii) sharing and retention of design knowledge, within site and Sanofi network.

About you


Education: Masters / Degree in Related Science, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering graduates preferred

·       Minimally 2nd upper honors from NUS, NTU, SUTD and SIT

Soft and technical skills:

  • An effective communicator and productive in multi-functional & multi-cultural communication settings.

  • Has excellent analytical, consultative and diagnostic skills with ability to make sound, data-based decisions.

  • Self-directed and comfortable working with a high level of autonomy, for initiating activities to close gaps and complete assigned tasks.

  • Data-driven and scientifically curious.

  • Experience in data analytics tools like R, JMP, Python, Matlab would be advantageous.
