About the Job
The Senior Scientist for CMI &Automation team will design, develop, qualify, validate, and interpretate cellular immunology methodologies to characterize functional T-cell and B-cell subsets and innate immunity for sample analysis for clinical studies across the Sanofi vaccine portfolio

Main Responsibilities:
In addition to deep immunological expertise, the candidate will be expected to provide mentorship and effectively supervise and train lab personnel to perform assigned tasks while ensuring applicable compliance and regulatory agency standards are met.
The candidate will serve as key resource as expert technical representation within its organization and on multidisciplinary teams.
It is expected the candidate remain current on state-of-the art technologies such as high dimensional spectral cytometry and embrace the evaluation of new technologies and automation.
About You
Requirements
Education/experience
Specialized degree in biological sciences from an accredited University
B.Sc. + 8 yr experience
M.Sc. + 5yr experience
PhD + 1yr experience
Demonstrated expertise examining antigen-specific immune cell function through in vitro/ex vivo stimulation of human primary PBMCs for intracellular cytokine staining analysis (ICS) as evidenced by scientific publications and presentations at scientific meetings
In depth knowledge and hands on experience with immunological phenotypic and ICS analysis of multiple cell lineages using multi-parameter flow cytometry and qualification/validation of such assays as well as their downstream analyses and reporting.
Ability to work with viruses, bacteria and potentially infectious samples from humans (BSL-2 or BSL-2+)
Lead, mentor and train lab staff
Strong ability to deliver complex objectives under aggressive timelines in a rapidly changing environment
Excellent technical, critical thinking and communication (oral and written) skills with ability to manage projects and resolve technical problems independently and also work effectively within cross-functional teams
Experience working in GXP compliant environment.
Functional/Technical Skills
Extensive hands-on experience with human PBMC isolation/cryopreservation and culture and treatment of primary cells
Experience in design, execution and troubleshooting of 22+ colour flow cytometry panels for immunophenotypic and ICS analysis using Cytek Aurora
In-depth knowledge of various immune subsets
Considerable experience in the use of flow cytometry analysis software OMIQ
Strong laboratory experience and understanding of clinical and non-clinical flow cytometry assay development, validation and implementation
Understanding of GXP practices and procedures required.
Preferred experience and skills:
Hands-on experience with liquid handlers and end-to-end automation
Knowledge of bioinformatics and statistical analysis is desirable
Hands on experience with high-dimensional data analysis (e.g. tSNE, UMAP, CITRUS, FlowSOM)
Hands on experience with automated data analysis including sample QC during clinical testing
In-depth understanding of the vaccine development process and comprehensive knowledge of the principles and concepts of immunogenicity assay validation, clinical testing and regulatory submission for regulated vaccine bioanalytical assays and strategies
Be a highly motivated team player with the ability to interact effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
