The Vaccines BU within Sanofi Canada is accelerating its modernization, with the aim to deliver value for its internal team members, external stakeholders, customers and HCPs, and the people we serve with our vaccines and immunizing options.

The Head of Modernization and Strategic Projects will lead strategic initiatives to drive innovation and enhance efficiency, help advance vaccines position and funding in a constrained environment, and support key initiatives of the Vaccines Leadership Team. This role will be pivotal in reimagining processes and governance, integrating cutting-edge technologies, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Build and execute a coordinated modernization strategy, aligned with the business unit’s priorities and with Play To Win company’s overall vision, to drive simplification and accelerate the adoption of new approaches and partnerships (GTMC, hubs), with them aim to improve our customer and people experience, and support successful future launches.

• Lead strategic projects to assess and support growth opportunities for the vaccines portfolio (e.g.: provincial budgets for prevention and vaccines).

• Support selected vaccines LT initiatives and drive critical operational aspects, including but not limited to Leadership Team Meetings, Play To Win Culture Initiatives, POA.

Operational Excellence & Technology Integration:

• Oversee the optimization of processes, systems, and workflows to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

• Accountable to promote leading methodologies and practices, including constructively challenging conventional thinking.

• Lead, in partnership with digital, the integration of advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and digital health solutions to support business objectives.

Change Management:

• Champion a culture of change and continuous improvement within the Vaccines Business Unit.

• Support and lead change management initiatives, in partnership with other leaders in the vaccines business unit, to drive the usage of solutions and approaches that will have a positive impact on Sanofi employees, customers and patients.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to drive transformation initiatives.

• Partner with cross-functional teams globally and locally across key initiatives

• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to align on goals, progress, and outcomes.

• Provide input, support, and challenge to internal stakeholder group on project development phase including business case development, prioritization, planning and options assessments.

Performance Measurement:

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of transformation and modernization efforts.

• Review and report on progress, making data-driven decisions to adjust strategies as needed.

About You:

• 10+ years of experience and proven track record leading transformational projects and driving operational excellence, with a strong background in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

• Strong experience in leading cross-functional teams, both from a direct and indirect perspective.

• Proven ability to foster collaboration and alignment across various organizational levels.

• In-depth knowledge of vaccines, pharmaceutical industry trends, and regulatory requirements.

• Strong strategic thinking, creativity and problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent.
