This position will be responsible for demand and supply planning and management, including cross-functional engagement with local and global supply chain stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery and release of products to meet contractual and market demand.
The individual will liaise with the Manager of Customer Service and Distribution Services, and the Regional Demand Lead to represent the Canadian Commercial Operations (ComOps) business interests and ensure integration of supply planning into the product ordering and shipping process throughout the year for the vaccine portfolio. Preparation and execution for the respiratory season will be an important responsibility. In addition, the incumbent will have responsibility for generating key reports regarding supply timelines, customer utilization, and material master data while updating all necessary internal databases as they relate to changes in product presentations or new product material master data requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
Canadian Integrated Business Review (IBP) Process Management (50%)
Demand planning Process:
Work with the brand managers and sales force to develop a 36-month projection of product demand for the entire product portfolio to be used by Supply Chain for production and inventory level planning.
Support the Commercial Operations input to the Financial Planning and Budgeting exercises and responsible for entering demand monthly into supply planning tool, Kinaxis, managing the demand and supply equation to highlight risks & opportunities for global transparency/awareness in
Manage the active opportunities and ensure mark-up within global guidelines.
Incorporate AI forecasting where possible and make adjustments to it as required. Flagging products where AI forecasting needs to be refined.
IBP cycle Management:
Maintain appropriate stock levels to meet contract obligations and avoid write-offs.
Support and challenge the supply run based on projected sales, considering run rates, production timelines, and product release requirements for the Canadian market.
Attend regular meetings with production sites in France and the US, representing Canada’s interests in product supply planning and lot allocation This position will liaise with internal stakeholders (Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Distribution, Customer Service) to effectively manage the timely availability of products, meet market demand, and reduce the risk of stock-outs.
Present the Canadian demand evolution, supply status, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the North America leadership team during the monthly IBP meetings.
Support Write-Off Risk Review Process led by Finance to minimize write-off risk through active inventory management and planning. Contribute to monthly write-off review meetings to identify potentials risks and develop associated mitigation strategies.
Drug Shortages and Discontinuation Process: Implement the Drug Shortages and Drug Distribution processes for the Vaccines Business unit.
Specific to the annual viral respiratory diseases (25%)
Provide preliminary delivery and release schedules for internal guidance including batch assignment, schedule regular Operational meetings with franchises, Sales, Regulatory, Canadian and US Supply Chain to review orders and progress to contractual supply schedules.
Manage annual campaigns from sales operations perspective, coordinating with Customer Service and the Distribution Centre for both public and private market sales.
Coordinate launches readiness (15%)
Lead the launch readiness meetings with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality) and coordinate the launches to avoid any supply disruptions or delays, ensuring a smooth transition to customers.
Monthly Reporting and Material Master Data (10%)
Prepare or support necessary reports including but not limited to:
Product Supply Table and Periodic Supply Update
Support sales in the delivery of the monthly Public Services and Procurement Canada supply updates
The Months On Hand report
Forecast accuracy (Mean absolute error/MAPE, Forecast Bias, Forecast Value Add (FVA), and Market Inventory landing)
Supply chain operations KPI (On-time In-full/OTIF & Lost Sales
Support ComOps in the preparation of:
New Product Setups
Manage ECC Net/GS1 Database for external customer reference (Wholesalers)
Maintenance of audit compliance files
About You
Education/Certifications:
Undergraduate degree in business or project management
Certified Supply Chain Professional designation a definite asset
MBA considered an asset but not a requirement
Experience:
3+ years in the Pharmaceutical, Retail or Vaccine Production Planning
HSE requirement/Statement
Works within the policies, procedures and regulations as required by the Company and under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Context of the job/Major challenges
The incumbent must be well organized and capable of handling multiple priorities, while delivering a high level of customer service. The work requires attention to detail and accuracy as the output of this position (forecast, reports, analysis) is viewed by all levels of management.
Dimensions/Scope
The accountabilities for this position are country specific and in addition to working within the Commercial Operations function, there will be cross-functional work with Finance and Supply Chain as well as Regulatory and Quality Operations.
