Main Responsibilities:

Manage waste drums for multiple waste streams:

• Packaging waste and coordinating autoclaving waste processing and disposal

• Handle egg, liquid, chemical & biological waste segregation and disposal

• Managing inventory controls of Biological indicators

• Media Management

• Ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory tracking of media

• Ensure proper rotation and expiration date management

• Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent shortages

Glassware Management

• Wash and assemble glassware, connections, flasks; coordinate with Washing & Sterilizing and returns to Quality Control

• Perform monthly cleaning of lab equipment (transport containers, grey transport bins)

• Perform routine checks for scratched/dented glassware and subsequent disposal

Consumables Management

• Maintain adequate stock levels of lab consumables

• Coordinate ordering and restocking activities

• Optimize inventory levels to minimize waste and costs

• Maintain visual management tools and inventory tracking systems

• Drive continuous improvement in lab organization

SAP Confirmations

• Process and confirm transactions in SAP system

• Ensure timely posting of goods receipts and issues

Dock Management

• Coordinate receiving activities for lab supplies and materials

• Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and condition

• Process receiving documentation and route materials appropriately

• Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse operations

Backup Support for Other Lab Support Staff

• Provide coverage during absences, vacations, or peak periods

• Cross-functional support across QC laboratory areas

• Ensure continuity of critical lab support operations

Assist Microbiology Department with Supply Management

• Unpacking incoming supplies and materials

• Disinfecting materials before entry into controlled areas

• Support micro team who will retain ordering responsibilities

• Ensure proper handling of materials entering classified environments

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12 (Science, Maths, English, Computer Training)

• Minimum of twelve (12) months of previous relevant work experience.

• Preferred 2 years College Diploma (General Microbiology, Maths, English, Computer Training) + 6 months of relevant experience.

Hours Of Work:

• Inclusive from Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Pay rate - $41.95 per hour.
