We are responsible for the implementation of a new go-to market strategy within the US Sanofi Vaccines business unit and searching for several area business associates to assist our organization paving the pathway forward.

The Sanofi Vaccines team aim is to remain an industry leader through evolving the way we operate and build our new business model. This model will be that can be responsive to fast changing customer needs and environment, engage in a Business-to-Business activities model that supports the growth of HCPs vaccine programs, with the right support to engage customers in the moments that matter in vaccines, while rewarding high performers and growth of our vaccines business.

The ABAVs will be responsible for engaging in account-based business to business interactions within customer segments (Pediatrics, Family/General Practice, IDN/IHNs, Health Systems, and Federally Qualified Health Centers), while presenting scientifically focused selling messages. We work to create and grow revenue and to consistently deliver the Sanofi Vaccines portfolio goals.

In this field-based, specialty sales position, the Area Business Associate- Vaccines, is responsible for the successful promotion of Sanofi-Vaccines portfolio in territories where additional resources/share of voice is required. Within a highly competitive marketplace, the ABAV will be called upon to successfully execute sales strategies to meet/exceed demand targets. The ABAV will be responsible for covering a designated territory on a short-to medium term basis (e.g., period vacancy or for other reasons). Geographic flexibility is a must, as ABAVs will be expected to spend 4-5 days each week in the territory they are covering, which could be anywhere in the United States.

The ABAV role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to leverage his or her sales skills in a healthcare environment with tremendous opportunities for career growth. ABAVs will have the opportunity to travel and build relationships across the vaccine’s organization. The ABAV role will be supported with a mentor and training.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Grow Vaccine Portfolio share and revenue and to consistently deliver on product goals.

  • Travel to assigned territory or territories during the assigned period of coverage for 4-5 days each week.

  • Be a vaccines portfolio expert, with the ability to position and differentiate products effectively.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with other key field-based stakeholders such as Medical Science Liaisons, Market Access teammates, strategic account managers, Hospital business managers, and others in their territory to proactively address customer needs.

  • Execute specific strategies which support brand and corporate objectives and ensure optimal account success within their assigned geographies.

  • Engage with the account and territory data, and work with internal data specialists to use insights that help HCPs operate more effectively.

  • Determine optimal ABAV strategy for Assigned Accounts and HCPs in an agile way leveraging AI and other digital tools.

  • Drive results by identifying key opportunities and developing strategic business plans to generate product utilization and grow territory business.

  • Understand and differentiate portfolio contracting options and compared competitive offerings through financial presentations.

  • Perform according to a buy/bill model, requiring a specialized skill set for operational support including but not limited to: Complex pricing analysis and price calculator usage, product shipping, monitoring contract compliance and securing contract amendments.

  • Flex to changing environments and sales methodologies, including remote selling techniques.

  • Plan, organize, and execute local promotional speaker programs and activities.

  • Participate and help lead initiatives to support sales success as assigned (e.g. participate in industry related congresses, local and regional meetings and medical conferences).

  • Achieve and exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

  • Attend local, regional, and national meetings as directed.

About You

Basic Qualifications

Minimum required skills & experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 1-2+ years of sales experience with proven success with business-to-business sales experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated learning agility to absorb and apply technical and scientific product-related information.

  • Geographic flexibility – able to travel to any geography within the United States on a weekly basis for a period of weeks to months with little advance notice (upwards of 80% travel or more).

  • Self-starter who can form relationships with new customers quickly and is comfortable with change.

  • General understanding and passion for science, public health, and making a difference in communities.

  • Self-directed and organized with excellent execution and planning skills.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

  • Proficient with MS Office and customer management databases

  • Must possess valid driver’s license, be eligible for insurance coverage and must be able to safely operate a vehicle.

Preferred skills & experience:

  • Degree in life sciences or business preferred, MBA a plus.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills. Comfortable presenting in front of a large group when needed.

  • Strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work across multiple functions.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience.

  • This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.

  • Candidates must complete all fleet safety training and must maintain an acceptable driving record regarding accidents and incidents.
