Purpose of the assignment
The Engineering Project Leader is responsible of implementation equipment, utilities and facilities related to insulin localization projects in Algeria from the data collection, purchase, installation and qualification phase until the technology transfer is finalized.
The Engineering Project Leader coordinates between Sending Unit, Receiving Unit and CMO (partner), at each project stage, all the technical and engineering aspects of the insulin localization project in Algeria, which includes:
- Fill & Finish equipment, facilities and utilities.
- New Pen assembly line including the linked facilities and utilities.
Main activities
- He is responsible of the coordination for all technical packages (technical fields) of the insulin project (pharmaceutical equipment, utilities and facilities) in terms of specifications, tenders, purchasing, deliveries, installations, commissioning and qualification until the transfer of responsibility to the Operational departments (routine activity).
- He coordinates all the Purchasing/clearance activities of the project, by the specialists integrated into the project team and/or with logistics.
- Collection of technical and engineering data from Subject Matters Experts.
- He coordinates all the engineering activities of the insulin project, at site Sanofi partner site.
- Coordinates and participates according the need to FAT/SAT, installation, commissioning as well as IQ and OQ support for insulin project equipment, facilities, and utilities at Sanofi partner site (CMO site).
- He assists Insulin localization manager on specific requests.
- He informs the Insulin localization manager of any delays, variations, technical, financial, or quality problems occurring during the project within his scope.
- He is the representative of the Insulin localization manager in the Pharma engineering fields. He takes the necessary decisions, and he reports any deviation.
- Participates in project reporting by providing key information needed for a clear understanding of issues, challenges, and risks.
- Report directly to the Insulin localization manager; In constant contact with the project team (internal or partner), future users, suppliers; In contact with corporate experts as part of the expertise and validations of technical solutions.
- Cross-functional work with the departments involved in the projects: quality, production, supply chain.
- Apply and enforce HSE regulations and rules.
- Ensure the improvement of the prevention of personnel accidents under its responsibility.
Qualifications required for the position
Skills
- Autonomy skills, rigor, methodology and transversal work.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry processes and requirements.
- Knowledge of the principles & requirement for the FAT/SAT and qualification.
- Good skills on planning establishment and management.
- Good skills on team management and leadership.
- English level: Advanced.
Training / Professional experience required
- Engineer in a technical field.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry of at least 7 years, preferably with at least 2 years’ experience in projects.

- Rate of advancement for equipment, utilities, facilities and building (from the preparation of specifications to commissioning and qualification).
- Timelines adherence.
