The Distribution Solution Expert will play a key role in supporting logistics operations at export distribution platforms, ensuring smooth execution of day-to-day activities related to inbound and outbound flows, stock management, and logistics claims. This role will focus on operational tasks, collaborating closely with internal teams and 3PLs (third-party logistics providers) to maintain efficiency, resolve operational issues, and help improve logistics processes under the guidance of senior management.
Key Accountabilities
Inbound Flows coordination
Support inbound logistics: Assist with coordinating the flow of shipments between shipping sites and 3PLs, ensuring timely deliveries and resolving minor issues as they arise.
Assist with reception activities: Help ensure effective communication between operational teams and 3PLs, ensuring efficient reception of goods and minimal disruptions.
Monitor inbound flows efficiency: Assist in optimizing inbound schedules and capacity utilization in collaboration with 3PLs, tracking performance to highlight opportunities for improvement.
Outbound management & Claims
Assist with logistics claims: Help investigate, and document logistics claims related to lost, damaged, or delayed shipments, escalating significant issues as needed.
Support returns management: Assist in tracking and managing returns, investigating root causes and supporting process improvements to reduce return rates.
Stock and Inventory Management
Support stock monitoring: Help track stock levels, assist with inventory reconciliation efforts, and address any discrepancies in collaboration with distribution sites and 3PLs.
Ensure accurate inventory tracking: Monitor stock turnover, ensuring compliance with internal stock targets and support efforts to reduce excess stock and avoid expiration.
Assist in inventory disposal: Help coordinate stock destruction and disposal, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations.
Operational Support and Process Improvement
Assist with operational performance: Monitor key operational activities, tracking performance data and supporting the identification of inefficiencies.
Provide support for continuous improvement projects: Help implement process enhancements and operational improvements, supporting senior team members in driving efficiency initiatives across logistics.
Support new system or tool implementations: Assist with the introduction of new technologies or process improvements, helping to ensure smooth transitions and user adoption.
Collaboration and Reporting
Collaborate with internal stakeholders: Work closely with various internal teams, including finance, quality, and operational teams, to ensure alignment on stock management and operational priorities.
Provide support for performance tracking: Assist in collecting and reporting performance metrics, offering data insights to help identify areas for improvement.
About you
Skills/Expertise/Experience:
Basic Supply Chain & Distribution knowledge: Understanding of logistics processes, including inbound and outbound management and stock control
Operational support experience: Proven ability to assist in logistics or supply chain operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day activities.
Team collaboration: Comfortable working with different teams, contributing to operational tasks while maintaining good communication.
Tool proficiency: Experience with logistics management systems (such as SAP or similar platforms) and collaborative tools.
Analytical mindset: Ability to analyze basic operational data and assist in resolving logistical issues.
Preferred Skills/Expertise/Experience:
Familiarity with regulated industries: Some knowledge or exposure to working within regulated sectors like pharmaceuticals or life sciences is a plus.
Experience with 3PLs: Familiarity with 3PL relationships and logistics operations, ideally within distribution.
Problem-solving ability: Able to identify issues in logistics processes and offer simple solutions or escalate where necessary.
Process improvement mindset: Interest in assisting with the continuous improvement of logis

Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
Please note that for Tariff positions in Germany, compensation is based on the federal collective bargaining agreement of the chemical industry.
