Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure the site’s activities compliance to all relevant Environment & Sustainability regulations and standards (local, state, and company). 
• Support the HSE Head to maintain the environment permits. 
• Serve as the primary point of contact with site related environmental regulatoryagencies and ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation. 
• Develop and implement site plans in alignment with Sanofi Environment & Sustainability Planet Care policies (Eco-Design, Climate change, waste circularity, water stewardship, Biodiversity…). 
• Conduct assessments and mitigate environmental impacts associated with the site’s operations: Identify, assess and manage environmental impacts and opportunities. 
• Monitor the environmental performance of the site and oversee the monitoring of environmental parameters, such as air pollution, water and wastewater quality, waste management, and GHG emissions.  
• Lead initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of the site, including Eco-design, water stewardship, waste, Biodiversity, …. 
• Support the engineering teamto optimize the use of the resources and reduce the site’s environmental footprint (Energy, PIE, Water efficiency roadmap, etc). 
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement initiatives and driveinnovation in environmental practices and process improvements to maintain a competitive edge. 
• Lead investigationsinto environmental severe impacts, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. 
• Lead & promote proactive HSE Culture on environmental topicsby developing and delivering training programs on Environment & Sustainability for all employees and stakeholders to guarantee that all employees have the knowledge and capabilities needed for their tasks. 
• Engage with environmental external experts (consulting, academies, labs, …) to ensure that the site have all the environmental capabilities in line with the site responsibilities on environmental topics. 
• Monitor/Report Environment & Sustainability local performance and trend (incl culture maturity index) to the SLT and above the site senior management to identify trends, assess performance, and make data-driven decisions. 
• Ensure quality and timeliness of the reporting of environmental data. 
• Lead and managethe Environment team including hiring, training, coaching, capabilities developing and performance evaluation which drive an excellence operating mindset. 
• Accountable for fostering site-wide employee awareness of environmental and sustainability programs while owning the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and projects that drive quantifiable Progress toward Sanofi's environmental goals 
• Perform additional Health, Safety, and Environment duties as assigned to support organizational HSE objectives and compliance requirements

• D: Develop local Environmental & Sustainability Policies and programs. 
• A/D: Validate the site’s budget and stratplan to allocate sufficient resources to achieve the environmental programs) 
• I: Implement Process Improvements. 
• D: Decide on Sustainability Initiatives. 
• I: Follow progress on Environment improvement projects and initiatives. 
• A: Recommend Resource Management Strategies. 
• D: Approve the final reports and recommendations following safety incident investigations. 

About You

Education/Experience/Technical Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Health/Safety/Environmental field
• Bachelors degree; preferred major: Environmental Science or Engineering
• Proficient in terms of Environmental sustainability knowledge
• Intermediate level of proficiency in term of product stewardship
• Extremely proficient with management systems, Regulatory knowledge, Matrix management, Problem solving, Project management, striving for results, ability to influence
• Direct management and transversal management skills desired
• Strong ability to coach and animate to drive transformation and environment performance
