Customer 360 MDM Expert


Position overview

As an Informatica Customer 360 MDM (Master Data Management) Expert, you will be an experienced and highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) where you will be responsible for providing knowledge and guidance in the implementation and optimization of Informatica MDM C360 solutions. Your role will involve collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand their master data management challenges and requirements, help with the designing MDM solutions using Informatica C360, and assisting in the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of these solutions. You will play a critical role being responsible for developing the master data management system, including data integration, data modeling and data migration, ensuring data quality, data integration, and consistency across enterprise systems.

You will be responsible for working with Informatica MDM components and services, data models, and industry best practices.

Additionally, you will play a key role in handling critical production data issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions around Customer MDM.

You would provide architecture and design, use case development, and solution implementation advice, responding promptly to internal customer questions with technical explanations of product features and capabilities when needed, and being able to prepare and deliver unique solution presentations or technical proposals.

Also, as we are working with other Digital areas in the organization, you will become the technical coach to your colleagues.

DETAILED ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Solution Design and Implementation

  • Work with Informatica MDM 360 solutions multi-domain edition (Customer, Reference, etc.), related components and services (create Business 360 connections, multidomain MDM SaaS solution, defining business entities, base objects, staging tables, lookup tables, manage and migrate assets, defining hierarchies and relationships, mappings, cleanse function, designing user interface, configuring data quality and survivorship rules, managing custom user roles and privileges, onboarding data, configuring trust & match & merge models and rules, defining jobs and business events, manage reports and dashboards, etc.
  • Utilize your expertise in Informatica MDM C360 to configure and customize the MDM solution.
  • Ensure adherence to MDM best practices and industry standards across the customer domain.
  • Create, enhance, and manage data models to meet business requirements.
  • Drive the technical design, implementation, and governance of the MDM solution.
  • Responsible for creating and customizing the Customer 360 and Reference 360 data model to cater the current business need without impacting the existing downstream applications.
  • Be able to define, tune and refine data models, hierarchies, relationships, data matching, survivorship, and merge rules, and achieve optimal balance between functionality and performance.
  • Be able to refine MDM domains and reference data models as the business evolves.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team on implementing solutions on the Informatica SaaS platform in the Customer Domain
  • Create and manage data mappings, transformations, and workflows within Informatica MDM Hub
  • Collaborate with technical teams to integrate Informatica MDM with other enterprise systems, applications, and databases
  • Configure and customize Informatica MDM Customer 360 and associated components to meet specific business needs, assisting in the installation, configuration, and administration of Informatica MDM environments if needed.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and matching activities to ensure data quality and consistency when needed.

Governance

  • Define and enforce data governance processes and policies within the Customer Domain
  • Collaborate with data stewards and business users to establish data quality rules and data governance workflows
  • Provide guidance and support in data stewardship activities
  • Implement data security and access controls to protect sensitive master data
  • Implement and maintain data quality monitoring and reporting mechanisms
  • Implements the dashboards and reports to be able to monitor the data governance program progress for each our data foundations and data products

Integration

  • Provide design approach for ingress and egress mechanism from/to source/target by means of batch and API
  • Configure and manage data integration processes between Informatica MDM and other source/target systems
  • Design and implement data synchronization and replication mechanisms to ensure consistency across systems
  • Troubleshoot data integration issues, perform data reconciliations, and resolve data conflicts
  • Monitor and analyze Informatica MDM performance and identify areas for optimization
  • Tune and optimize MDM processes, workflows, and database configurations for improved efficiency
  • Conduct performance testing and capacity planning to ensure scalability of the MDM solution
  • Define the test strategies both for batch and real time ingestion and assist in development of methodology, libraries, and templates for reuse
  • Develop and execute data loading processes and integration workflows using Informatica MDM

Data quality

  • The MDM Expert is expected to help the team to produce and report on data quality and trending analytics to steering committees and working groups
  • Perform data profiling activities to analyze data sources, identify data quality issues, and assess data completeness
  • Develop and implement data cleansing processes to standardize and cleanse data, remove duplicates, resolve inconsistencies, and apply data validation rules
  • Design and implement data quality rules using Informatica Data Quality tools, including business rules, data validation rules, and data standardization rules
  • Collaborate with data integration teams to ensure seamless integration of data quality processes within data integration workflows
  • Conduct data quality assessments, create data quality metrics, and analyze data quality reports to measure the effectiveness of data cleansing processes
  • Investigate data quality issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions to address them. Perform impact analysis and implement corrective measures
  • Maintain metadata repositories and data dictionaries to document data quality rules, transformations, and data lineage
  • Optimize data quality processes for efficiency and performance by analyzing data processing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and fine-tuning data quality transformations and rules
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data stewards, and other stakeholders to understand data quality requirements and develop data quality strategies
  • Create technical documentation, including data quality specifications, process flows, and user guides

Transversal topics

  • Participate in workshops, collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand master data management objectives, challenges, and requirements, and translate them into technical requirements to prepare future Informatica Customer MDM solutions.
  • Analyze existing data structures, systems, and processes to identify data management gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Resolve technical incidents in the tools under his responsibility.
  • Support and participate in change management activities by generating content, giving training, etc.
  • Bring industry best practices in enterprise master data management and solution integration.
  • Build Logical and Physical Data Models, Hierarchies, Trust setting, User Security, Data Flow configuration, De-Duplication, Matching and cleansing
  • Perform development activities, document and execute unit test cases/scripts and document test and review results

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Management
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Informatica SaaS solutions, preferable in Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) Customer 360
  • Experience implementing full lifecycle MDM projects.
  • Hands-on experience as an MDM expert/specialist or a similar role, specifically with Informatica MDM Customer 360 and/or Multidomain MDM and/or Reference 360, including handling critical production data issues, hot fixes, and patches.
  • Strong understanding of master data management concepts, data governance principles, and data integration strategies
  • Experience in designing and implementing MDM solutions, data models, and data hierarchies
  • Proficiency in data profiling, data cleansing, and data matching techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft PowerBI and Snowflake is desirable
  • Strong ability and passion to document things and present to different audiences
  • Strong understanding of MDM best practices and industry standards in the customer domain.
  • Experience in integrating external business applications with MDM hub
  • Understanding of data governance and data profiling concepts
  • Strong understanding of MDM architectures and business processes
  • Solid understanding of Data integration, Data Quality, Data Architecture, and Master Data Management
  • Awareness of MDM trends, MDM Concepts, and other MDM tools specially around Customer in Pharma Industry
  • Familiarity with other related Informatica services is plus.
  • Relevant certifications in Informatica MDM, such as Informatica MDM Developer or Administrator, are a plus
  • Familiarity with other Informatica products, and data quality and data governance frameworks are desirable
