To facilitate this transformation, a new Business Operations Business Unit is being established, bringing together existing business service activities, and driving further expansion of centralized services at scale into a global unit, with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. This new Business Unit will enable the delivery of best-in-class business support capabilities across the organization, incorporating and engaging disparate teams from across areas such as R&D, M&S, the Corporate Functions and GBUs into new global Service Delivery Towers with initial services spanning Commercial, Finance, Procurement and People & Culture.

Reporting to the Global Process Lead Guided Buying and S2P User & Supplier Experience, the Global Process Expert - Guided Buying and S2P User & Supplier Experience plays a critical role in the design, execution, and transformation of Sanofi’s Source to Pay strategy. As Global Process Expert, the incumbent will be responsible for the design, development, optimization, and governance of parts of the S2P process, a key L2 process in the organizations Source to Pay core model. They bear the responsibility for driving process standardization, optimization, and improvement initiatives across the organization's global operations. This role involves working closely with regional and local teams and outsourced service provider, as well as a deep understanding of S2P technology (Coupa, etc.), to identify, develop, and implement best practices that enhance efficiency, quality, and consistency of processes worldwide.

Main responsibilities:

  • Tactical Buying & Tail Spend Management: Actively drive, implement & optimize Core Model for Tactical Buying and Spot Buy in collaboration with Procurement. Identify & drive improvement and automation opportunities for Tail Spend Management. Support increased usage of preferred & automated buying channels and facilitate S2P process for non-preferred and non-automated purchases.

  • Guided Buying & S2P end-to-end Helpdesk: Enforce, implement & optimize Guided Buying services incl. technology enablement. Drive the implementation of the Core Model for triaging of tail spend Purchase Requests with the aim to guide the business towards usage of correct Buying Channels. In collaboration with BPO partner, drive and implement an integrated end-to-end helpdesk with Single Entry Point from Procurement to Invoicing and T&E. Provide L3 support and relevant interfaces to Guided Buying part of S2P Helpdesk.

  • S2P User & Supplier Experience: Improving user / business and supplier experience on S2P processes, S2P tools and S2P support (e.g. helpdesk). Providing S2P insights, guidance, training material and selected communications to the Procurement and Non-Procurement scope business areas of Sanofi as well as to S2P Solution Partners and S2P Delivery Teams as multiplier of Core Model standardization. Oversight on business & supplier view on S2P tools experience across sub-processes and collaboration with S2P System Owner & GPLs on best integration and simplicity. S2P coordination / interface for Supplier Contract Audit.

  • Connect-to-Resolve: Drive from S2P side the continuous development of Connect-to-Resolve (C2R) solutions and being key counterpart to C2R team (e.g. S2P-C2R-Steering Committee). Expert on S2P C2R topics, improving helpdesk, C2R SLA ticket feedback, Customer Satisfaction Surveys etc. Follow-up on pain points and C2R ticket learnings together with BPO partner and GPLs 

  • Process Design and Optimization: Design fit for purpose processes and scope within the S2P value chain (level 2). Drive to be definition on future process in line with global best practices. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Operate to, and promote, standardized and harmonized ways of working. Guide implementation of Core Model deployment in regions and follow Core Model gaps. Review and propose changes to Core Model design and documents to help deliver continuous improvement, compliance, efficiency, and positive user experience. Provide insight to and recommend change requests and exceptions to the Core Model for approval/rejection. Provide pre-approval of desktop procedures and process documentations (i.e. Signavio)

  • Stakeholder Management & Governance: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Finance, IT, and Operations, to ensure alignment and collaboration. Involve stakeholders for project governance / incident / request / process resolution. Manage stakeholder meetings and follow-ups targeting a clear outcome. Ensure stakeholders are informed on outcomes whenever required. Ensure Internal Control and compliance requirements are embedded in process designs.

  • Technology / Solution Optimization: Serve as a global expert in respective digital solution / process technology (e.g. Coupa Module, Concur). Set process and technology standards for the end-to-end process with oversight from the Global Process Lead. Understand market trends, benchmarks, and best-in-class solutions. Provide options to drive best solution usage, user experience and automation as part of continuous improvement.

  • Continuous Improvement Management: Lead and support the execution of core model improvement initiatives. Develops and manages overall project timelines, risks, issues, and escalations. Ensures appropriate documentation is maintained and CI process is followed. Create communication plans to inform stakeholders about process changes and benefits. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.

  • Performance Reporting: Contribute to the KPI/DQI/metrics definition and propose improvements if required. Support implementation of KPIs in respective regions. Monitor KPI targets and provide guidance to regional teams on deviations when required. Create reporting packages where appropriate for regions (if appropriate).

About you:

  • Experience: Proven experience in Source-to-Pay or Procure-to-Pay process ownership role. Demonstrated experience in process optimization, standardization, and change management. Expert knowledge of S2P solutions (Coupa, etc.) Additional certifications in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) are an advantage. Strong understanding of S2P processes at scale in a global context. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans. Effective communicator with the ability to influence to drive adoption of standardized S2P processes. Professional certifications such as Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP). Experience in implementing source-to-pay technology solutions (e.g., e-procurement, spend analytics). International experience working with diverse cultures and global teams.

  • Soft skills & Technical skills: SAP, Coupa, PowerBI

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Language: Fluent in English (spoken and written).
