JOB SUMMARY:
The Team Manager for the M&S Purchase Price Variance (PPV) Center of Excellence is a global leadership role based in Budapest, with responsibility for worldwide procurement pricing and variance management.
The M&S PPV CoE Manager is accountable for monitoring and providing transparency into Direct Procurement Performance, representing approximately €5 billion in spending. This strategic leadership position drives cost optimization, standardizes procurement processes, and ensures rigorous data analysis to effectively manage Purchase Price Variances. The role serves as a critical bridge between Procurement, Finance, and Operations, ensuring proper tracking and reconciliation of variances across actuals, budget, and forecast.
The M&S PPV CoE Manager plays a pivotal role in Sanofi's strategic transformation of financial controlling. This includes managing relationships with senior stakeholders—including Finance Business Partners and functional leaders—while leading a team of 3 Experts professionals across the organization.
The incumbent drives financial excellence with hands-on expertise to guarantee the delivery and quality of Financial Statements, encompassing closing activities, analysis, and forecasting for approximately €5 billion. This role reflects a strategic decision to increase seniority within the function, combining stakeholder management responsibilities with leadership of controlling operations.
As a key player in our transformation journey, the Team Manager will:
- Elevate PPV Processes and Solutions in controlling operations by implementing innovative approaches to financial management
- Spearhead the adoption of AI in PPV processes & practices
- Build and maintain critical partnerships with Global Procurement Finance BPs in MnS and with the global Procurement direct operational teams
- Drive the harmonization and standardization of processes across geographies
- Lead financial cycles like Closing Forecasting and Budgeting by increasing quality and accuracy
- Ensure rigorous financial compliance, including SOX controls
- Design, adapt and simplify the processes and tools to ensure a strong and confident connection between Finance and Procurement
- Drive or initiate Continuous Improvement measures
- Communication, training and support to stakeholders (Finance/BO and Procurement)
- Analyze actual monthly Procurement performance and support PPV rolling forecast and budget cycles across M&S
- Provide relevant KPIs to support decision making and contribute to finance data and systems management

Main Responsibilities:
- Application owner TM1 One MnS
- Live since 2023 (replacing eStore)
- Since January 2025, actuals directly retrieved from SAP
- On going Improvments
- Contribute to RPA BOT deployment for Change effect on SHIFT Scope => supported by SHIFT Team
- Automatize collection of Std prices for New Materials
- Display TM1 One MnS Data in PWBI
- Change the way we work for Std; accelerate Std price collection using Procurement My PIR application
- Financial Control and Management
- Lead financial controlling activities for ~5 Bn€ budget for Global Procurement / PPV activities
- Manage specific functions specificities (e.g. Audits support, MDM changes and perimeter changes)
- Ensure accurate financial planning, tracking, and reporting for scope of responsibility
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision making
- Ensure harmonization and standardization of ways of working across geographies
- Supporting the teams to achieve customer-focused objectives and contribute to the strategic enhancement of the core model, user experience, and process excellence.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of ~3 specialized PPV CoE experts in Budapest Hub
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality controlling services
- Establish clear objectives, expectations, and performance metrics aligned with broader organizational goals
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes excellence and continuous improvement
- Build function capabilities and expertise within the team
- Stakeholder Management
- Serve as key financial partner to Finance, Internal Control & Procedures, Global Procurement direct
- Build strong relationships with hub leaders
- Ensure alignment with global finance strategies
- Communicate financial insights effectively to non-financial partners
- Process Excellence
- Ensure adherence to core mode
- Drive efficiency improvements in financial operations
- Implement and maintain quality standards across all deliverables
- Monitor and report on team performance metrics
- Play a key role in the transformation of project controlling practices (AI adoption)
- Implement specific expertise across the team
- Risk Management and Compliance
- Oversee financial compliance for SOX and Non-SOX controls
- Identify and mitigate financial risks
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures
- Support audit requirements and regulatory compliance
About you
Experience:
- 3-6 years of experience in a Finance related position with increasing responsibility
- Experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
- Strong understanding of MnS processes
- Transformation experience
