The Project Coordinator, Immunology serves as a PA expert to the Immunology Franchise.  He/She works closely with the Global clinical development, new product planning, market access and brand teams in developing global public affairs strategies to meet key business objectives and support our ambitions to be a leader in immunology. He/ She collaborates with the Local PA teams to ensure relevance of global strategy, alignment on resource prioritization, and consistency in execution.

Main Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator, Immunology is responsible for developing and executing global public affairs plans to deliver on the strategic objectives of the Immunology Franchise, with a focus on pipeline assets for dermatology, respiratory and GI conditions.

  • Drive implementation of a robust Global PA strategy to achieve the vision for the franchise- reinforcing the company’s commitment to the dermatology, respiratory and GI communities, supporting high-priority business objectives and preparing the ecosystem for significant launches and/or uptake of new therapies.

  • Reinforce Sanofi’s long-standing position as a leader in innovation and patient commitment in immunology.

  • Drive “Where to Play” strategy for priority markets, focusing on areas where Global PA can deliver value.

  • Strengthen relationships with patient groups and key stakeholders to ensure that the “voice of the patient” is central in shaping business strategy and development opportunities.

  • Develop an external policy/market shaping strategy for key disease states in priority countries in close partnership with local PA teams (identify patients, build advocacy, shape policy to accelerate/sustain access to treatment).

  • Build expertise and knowledge of immunology and associated disease states within the PA community.

  • Work with local PA teams to ensure global strategies reflect local realities and relevance/utility of global tools.

  • Leverage resources and expertise across US and Corporate Affairs functions, secure alignment and champion one voice.

  • The project coordinator would pull through global strategic initiatives to support Sanofi immunology leadership and reputation building.

  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners (clinical development, new product planning, market access, medical, regulatory, commercial) to:

    • ensure external community input is considered/incorporated into programs currently in development

    • understand and build out strategies to execute on early market-shaping needs (e.g., screening/diagnostics, payment reform, care delivery barriers, etc.)

    • appropriately educate external partners on breadth of Sanofi pipeline.

  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and patient groups to bring needed solutions to patients in line with the priorities of key pipeline assets and consistent with overall company position.

  • Understand important trends likely to impact business strategy – monitor and analyze potential threats, opportunities from external developments and communicate them effectively to the TA leadership

  • Develop and execute external engagement strategy for senior TA leadership to establish Sanofi’s commitment to immunology.

The role will report to the Head, Global Public Affairs, Immunology.

About You

Minimum required skills & experience:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.

  • A minimum of 3+ years of combined professional experience across Public Affairs; Market Access; Policy or a Government Affairs position with policy-shaping responsibilities is required.

  • Selected candidate will have current or prior experience in developing policy and advocacy strategies, in addition to advanced responsibilities in an industry (or advocacy organization) public affairs role.

  • Selected candidate will have prior experience working on early-stage assets and engaging cross-functionally with R&D and new product panning/BD functions.

  • This position will require strong collaboration across the Local, Regional, and Global teams.

  • Identified candidates will have proven experience in developing and leading within a highly matrixed environment.

  • This position may require up to 30% overall travel.

Required Competencies:

  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated understanding of the strategic role of PA in driving business success.

  • Solid track record in translating strategy to action: developing high impact PA strategies, deploying PA tools and tactics to meet business objectives.

  • Strong leader with proven leadership ability to build consensus, influence the debate, mobilize teams around a position or cause.

  • Team player, skilled in collaboration and able to work and lead with ease cross-functionally and within a matrix.

  • Working knowledge of product development lifecycle, competitor intelligence gathering and blunting and early market-shaping strategic needs.

  • Skilled at developing and cultivating relationships with patient organizations and other strategic partners.

  • Strong knowledge of stakeholder groups, including multi-lateral institutions, trade associations, patient organizations.

  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry, appreciation of critical trends shaping the operating landscape and relevance to industry/business strategy.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams of experts and senior leaders in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable in ambiguous settings and in operating effectively in fast paced environments.

Preferred skills & experience:

  • Post-graduate degree in public health or health care related field /Doctorate degree or business (e.g., M.D., PhD, PharmD, MBA or equivalent) is preferred.

  • Prior experience in immunology is preferred for this position.
