As Staff Software Engineer within our Global eCommerce Software Engineering team, you'll shape the technical future of a $7 billion global business connecting patients and healthcare professionals to life-changing medicines and vaccines. Ready to get started?

Based within Sanofi's Digital Global eCommerce & Vaccines organization, you'll work at the intersection of business and technology — partnering with cross-functional teams to revolutionize how patients access Sanofi's medicines worldwide. This role reports directly to the Head of Software Engineering, eCommerce. From customer onboarding to shipment delivery, you'll set the technical bar for the entire organization and amplify the impact of the engineers around you

Main responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy across multiple teams and domains, designing scalable, resilient architectures for global eCommerce platforms — from customer-facing experiences to backend operations
• Own critical technical decisions, balancing engineering excellence with pragmatism to deliver high-quality solutions on time
• Champion best practices in cloud-native development, microservices, APIs, CI/CD, DevOps, and cybersecurity across the organization
• Mentor and grow senior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, psychological safety, and continuous improvement
• Bridge engineering, product, and business teams, ensuring technical direction aligns with organizational goals and delivers real impact for patients
• Represent engineering in conversations with external partners and vendors, advocating for sound technical standards

About you

• Experience: Proven track record leading technical initiatives and mentoring senior engineers in fast-paced, innovative environments
• Technical skills: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js), React or equivalent, and an object-oriented language (Java, Python, C++, or similar); hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Infrastructure as Code, microservices, API design, CI/CD, observability tools (e.g. DataDog), and automated testing
• Soft skills: Strong communicator and collaborative leader who can influence peers and leadership alike; growth mindset with a passion for innovation and learning
• Education: A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Languages: Fluent English (written and verbal)
