As we continue to transform the practice of medicine, the next chapter of Sanofi's Play to Win strategy will require a focus on delivering transformation and simplification of our core processes, optimizing resource allocation and deployment to fuel business growth and investment in science.
To facilitate this transformation, a new Business Operations Business Unit is being established, bringing together existing business service activities, and driving further expansion of centralized services at scale into a global unit, with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity.
This new Business Unit will enable the delivery of best-in-class business support capabilities across the organization, incorporating and engaging disparate teams from across areas such as R&D, M&S, the Corporate Functions and GBUs into new global Service Delivery Towers with initial services spanning Commercial, Finance, Procurement and People & Culture.
As the Supplier Onboarding Expert you will be reporting to the Vendor Management & Onboarding Global Process Owner. You will manage the entire process of onboarding new suppliers, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and a positive initial experience. You will focus on the initial setup and integration of new suppliers into the organization's systems and processes. You will have decision making rights on the supplier segmentation, drives engagement with the business to ensure process is executed end to end. You will have deep understanding of market and country legislation in terms of legally endorsed invoicing channels.

Main responsibilities:
Onboarding Process Management: Develop, implement, and maintain a standardized and efficient supplier onboarding process. This includes defining clear steps, timelines, and responsibilities, communication with the business and suppliers while Continuously monitor and improve the supplier onboarding process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the supplier onboarding process.
Supplier Due Diligence: Oversee the due diligence process for new suppliers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies (e.g., KYC, AML, ethical sourcing).
Deep knowledge of country legislation and governmentally approved invoicing platforms to ensure compliance to regulations.
System Setup and Configuration: Manage the setup and configuration of new suppliers within the organization's procurement systems (e.g., creating supplier records, setting up payment terms) while owning budget associated with all invoicing platforms and has decision right on enhancements needed to ensure smooth onboarding.
Documentation and Communication: Create and maintain all necessary documentation and communication materials for suppliers throughout the onboarding process.
Training and Support: Provide initial training and support to new suppliers on the organization's systems and processes. This is focused on immediate operational needs.
Data Management: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of supplier data throughout the onboarding process while working closely with other procurement teams (e.g., enablement, vendor management) to ensure a smooth transition for new suppliers. This is primarily focused on coordination and handoff.
The key difference between the Enablement Lead role and the Onboarding Experts is that the Supplier Enablement Lead focuses on long-term supplier development and performance improvement, while the Supplier Onboarding Expert focuses on the initial setup and integration of new suppliers. They work collaboratively but have distinct and non-overlapping responsibilities.
About you
Experience:
- Proven experience in Source-to-Pay or Procure-to-Pay processes, ideally within a large, multinational organization
- Deep understanding of S2P processes and best practices
- Experience with S2P systems and related technologies
- Experience in implementing source-to-pay technology solutions (e.g., e-invoicing, spend analytics) preferred
- Knowledge of SOX as it applies to S2P processes preferred
- Experience in healthcare and/or life-science industry preferred
- Experience in establishing and developing shared service capabilities and services preferred
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Accounting)
- Master’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred
Soft and technical skills:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
- Proven influencing skills in driving adherence to core model through collaborative efforts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective collaborator with strong trust-building and influencing skills.
- Results-oriented with strong analytics skills; ability to drive operational excellence through data-driven insights.
- Ability to lead change initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Ability to work transversally and within a highly matrixed environment preferred
Language:
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
