The Nonviral Gene Therapy group Sanofi is developing novel cancer therapeutics that directly reprogram the immune system. Using lipid nanoparticles, mRNA or DNA is delivered directly to targeted tissues or cells to alter their behavior.

The Bioanalytical Testing Scientist will work hands-on in the lab testing complex nanoparticle formulations using various chemical and bioanalytical assays, including ELISA, HPLC, primary cell culture, and flow cytometry. As part of a small, fast-growing team at Sanofi, the Scientist will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to the company’s research and development daily.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical assays to characterize lipids, proteins, polymers, nucleic acids, biological fluids, and nanoparticles using methods including ELISA, CE, and HPLC

• Develop and perform assays to characterize the in vitro performance of targeted nanoparticles

• Isolate primary human cells and maintain a variety of cell lines

• Design, execute, and analyze flow cytometry experiments

• Work in a BSL-2 environment

• Communicate results to team members and participate in meetings

• Execute and carefully document experiments using electronic laboratory notebook system

• Write and follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Maintain laboratory equipment as needed

• Perform duties according to applicable safety procedures

• Perform additional tasks to support research and development as the scope of the job changes as necessitated by growth of the team

• Strong organizational skills to maintain a high level of productivity to complete assignments on-time

• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and results-oriented

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• MS in chemistry, bioengineering, biomaterials, biochemistry or related degree and at least two years of relevant work experience

• Ability to work hands-on with various chemicals and laboratory equipment

• Willingness to work with hazardous chemicals, human derived cells and mouse tissue
