(Swiftwater, PA) The Manager Facility Owner & HSE Champion for the FFIP business unit (Formulation, Filling, Inspection and Packaging) provides the leadership, direction, and the oversight support for FFIP, Building 37 management and associated shutdown activities.  In addition, will participate in FFIP Manufacturing Strategic initiatives.

Responsible for coordinating and interfacing with Site Services on Security, Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Engineering and Metrology/Calibration activities for Facilities exterior structure and mechanical areas of buildings B37, B57 & B77.  The position is responsible for ensuring assigned areas meet current FDA, International Regulatory Body, Corporate Quality, and all quality and safety standards are consistently met.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Facilities, Services, and Utilities meet the established strategic vision of the assigned buildings (B37).

  • Coordinate small capital projects with Engineering and Site service and act a liaison between PCU and internal and external functions executing projects.

  • Provide direction to ensure facility, services, and utilities deviations, change controls, and CAPAs commitments are met on time and with the highest standards of quality.

  • Provide oversight of the manufacturing facilities' mechanical areas and ensure the highest safety standards are maintained.

  • Responsible for projects, including providing assistance and recommendations regarding B37 manufacturing areas, equipment, processes, and facilities shutdowns relating to the integration of these manufacturing areas.

  • Participate in SMS 2.0 ways of working, own CI projects related to facilities, and participate in applicable PCU meetings as required (Asset Care, Continuous Improvement, +QDCI)

  • Function as part of a high-performing team, providing effective communication to the team and other functional groups at the site or other manufacturing sites, ensuring the execution of deliverables/commitments on time.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies, procedures, codes, and regulations affecting operations and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

  • Develop, define, track, and coordinate shutdown activities through comprehensive scheduling models.

  • Locker assignments and management.

  • Meet energy usage and waste disposal objectives of assigned areas.

  • Coordinate pest control activities and assist with leak investigations.

  • Share best practices and updates on HSE programs, audit schedules, results, and action plans.

  • Manage JHA updates and maintenance, annual risk map updates, product stewardship, task-based risk assessments, and medical surveillance compliance.

  • Initiate accident investigations, own action plans, review area documents, and link incidents to risk profiles.

  • Conduct internal audits/inspections and manage day-to-day shop floor activities, including Gemba schedules, MSV schedules, permits to work, coactivity planning, and drills (fire, spill, MERT, bio, etc.).

  • Support managers on HSE topics and provide on-boarding training for non-GMP areas.

  • Escalate issues to Area Manager, HSE, and Maintenance as needed and contribute to area improvement ideas and trending (SRR, MSV, injury, incident, etc.).

Context of the Job/Major Challenges:

  • Ensure the manufacturing facilities and equipment within control are properly maintained and verify the continued validated state of all equipment and processes within the assigned area of responsibility.

  • Coordinate and oversee the supervision of security accesses (verification of training) to the facilities and the Lab Watch call lists needed for each area.

  • Review and audit security, emergency, and Lab Watch call lists as needed.

  • Work with maintenance and metrology to ensure proper critical spare parts inventory (building and utilities) is maintained and in control.

  • Perform building duties, including primary temperature monitoring, signing logbooks, changing charts, signing cleaning confirmation logbooks, changing CO2 banks, coordinating calibrations and PMs for freezers, cycle counting, and other duties.

About You

  • Earned Bachelor's Degree (preferred) preferably in Engineering, Management, or Life Sciences with ideally 2 years of relevant experience OR a High School diploma or G.E.D. (required) with a minimum of 7 years equivalent work experience

  • A minimum of two (2) years working in manufacturing (ideally 5+), preferably in a regulated environment.

  • Knowledge of cGMPs and regulatory requirements are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical and leadership skills required to lead facilities management.

  • Strong cross-functional working skills to cut across organizational boundaries within and outside of Manufacturing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to actively and cooperatively work with cross-functional teams
