BioResources Lab Support- Vaccines

Duration: Fixed-Term Contract, 11 months

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Join our dedicated BioResources department as a BioResources Lab Support, where you'll play a vital role in the care and enrichment of various laboratory animal species. In this position, you will perform essential animal care and husbandry tasks, ensuring the health and well-being of our animals while contributing to important research initiatives. Main Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment and facilities in animal areas according to cGMP and safety guidelines, including cage preparation, equipment functionality checks, and proper carcass disposal

• Perform comprehensive housekeeping duties throughout animal facilities, including cleaning floors, walls, work surfaces, and maintaining air filtration systems

• Operate cage washing equipment and conduct disinfection procedures for animal housing and related equipment

• Monitor and manage inventory of essential supplies including animal feed, bedding, cleaning materials, chemicals, and enrichment items

• Complete required documentation for animal identification, facility operations, and maintain accurate records in compliance with cGXP standards

• Ensure proper chemical handling, including tracking expiration dates and appropriate container labeling

• Provide administrative support through timely communication, email correspondence, and filing as needed

About You:

• Grade 12 education (community college or equivalent) in sciences with minimum six months relevant work experience; preferred ARLAT certification from Canadian Association of Laboratory Animal Science

• Knowledge of animal disease control protocols and GXP compliance requirements

• Understanding of safety guidelines including biohazard management, MSDS interpretation, and zoonosis prevention.

• Proficient computer skills with strong organizational and communication abilities (oral/written)

Hours Of Work:

• Inclusive from Monday to Friday 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM ​
