The Chief Procurement Officer is reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, member of the Sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Research & Development and Digital) leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Transformation & Excellence team.
The yearly spend coverage is around 16B€ with a special focus on Procurement Excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operating Income (BOI) impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the Procurement Data & Analytics Roadmap Lead for the Professional Services & Digital Domains. In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for the definition and execution of Procurement's data roadmap.
This role will work closely with the Procurement Global Category Teams to understand their requirements for data & analytics, and function as a bridge between those teams and Procurement Services (Sanofi's in-house shared services centre) to translate those business requirements into a strategic data roadmap for the coming years.
Main responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Accountable for the development of a strategic analytics roadmap for the Professional Services & Digital Domains, aligning with overall Procurement analytics roadmap
Accountable for the identification and design of analytics capabilities, with the ability to work closely with stakeholders to co-develop business cases and prioritize based on a clear value proposition
Align roadmap with execution arm (Procurement Services) to ensure timely delivery and quality of analytics
Work hand-in-hand with the Head of Professional ServicesProcurement&Head of Digital Procurement to capture requirements for analytics
Work closely with Global Category Teams to understand future data requirements for analytics - develop a data strategy (working with internal data stakeholders such as Procurement Services, Digital teams as well as external data sources such as Bloomberg, etc.) to uplift our data foundations in line with future analytic capabilities required
Work with Procurement Services as contact point for a pragmatic implementation of innovative technologies (Machine Learning, GenAI, etc.)
Monitor and track Service Level Agreements with Procurement Services, to ensure timely delivery of required capabilities
Advanced Data Modeling:
Have a deep understanding of advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to uncover patterns, correlations, and predictive insights.
Define the required data models that enhance the understanding of procurement performance.
Drive the development of bespoke data models that serve the Professional Services & Digital Domains, with a focus on working with Procurement Services to deliver actionable insights
Team Leadership:
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Oversee professional development initiatives to build a high-performing and agile procurement team.
Executive Reporting and Presentations:
Prepare and deliver executive-level reports and presentations that highlight strategic insights and recommendations, gathering buy-in from Procurement Leadership Team
Effectively communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics and procurement.
Propose innovative solutions to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of analytics processes.
Develop and maintain a professional network to understand innovation trends in external industry-leading organizations
About you
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related fields
Master's degree in relevant field, or MBA preferred
Experience:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a procurement role, with a focus on analytics and emerging technologies
- Experience in Consulting organizations preferred
- Strong understanding of Procurement processes and frameworks
- Significant experience in Indirect Procurement, with knowledge on Professional Services & Digital Procurement
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
- Ability to translate business requirements into a technical roadmap to be executed by Procurement Services
Soft skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions with unerring focus on generating business value
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
Languages:
- Fluent in English is a must

Sanofi Business Operations (BO), is operating a captive Business Services HUB center in Budapest.
Main responsibilities:
Onboarding Process Management: Develop, implement, and maintain a standardized and efficient supplier onboarding process. This includes defining clear steps, timelines, and responsibilities, communication with the business and suppliers
Deep knowledge of country legislation and governmentally approved invoicing platforms to ensure compliance to regulations
Contribution to System Setup and Configuration for XML / EDI and eInvoicing platform implementation
Documentation and Communication: Create and maintain all necessary documentation and communication materials for suppliers throughout the onboarding process
Training and Support: Provide initial training and support to operational teams in charge of supplier onboarding and onboarding support
Issue Resolution: Third level of support for issues or challenges that arise during the supplier onboarding process while continuously monitoring and improving the supplier onboarding process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Collaboration: Work closely with other source to pay and procurement teams (e.g., enablement, vendor management) to define and implement processes that ensure a smooth transition for new suppliers
About you
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Accounting)
Master’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred
Experience:
Proven experience in Accounts Payable, ideally in a large multinational organization mandatory
Strong experience with implementation of eInvoicing platforms (both commercial and governmental) is mandatory
Solid hands-on knowledge of XML and EDI implementation, including system setup and configuration is mandatory
Experience with P2P systems and related technologies is mandatory
Strong understanding of country-specific legislation and government-approved invoicing platforms to ensure compliance.
Deep understanding of end-to-end P2P (Procure-to-Pay) processes and best practices.
Experience with P2P systems and related technologies
Working experience in Accounts Payable / Payments using SAP preferred
Project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
Ability to work transversally and within a highly matrixed environment is an advantage
Experience in healthcare and/or life-science industry preferred
Experience in establishing and developing shared service capabilities and services is a plus
Soft and technical skills:
Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
Proven influencing skills in driving adherence to core model through collaborative efforts.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective collaborator with strong trust-building and influencing skills.
