Job Title: Global Buyer – CMO and Manufacturing Logistics & Customs

Location: Hyderabad

About the Job:

Our Team

As a Global Buyer – CMO and Manufacturing Logistics & Customs, you will sit at the intersection of transportation procurement, customs compliance, and manufacturing supply chain operations. This is a newly consolidated, high-impact category role covering all modes of transport (road, air, and sea) specifically serving Sanofi's manufacturing sites and Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) partners, as well as end-to-end customs management for manufacturing inbound flows.

This role is unique in combining deep logistics and customs expertise with the cross-functional project management capabilities required to map, design, and optimize inbound manufacturing logistics from the ground up — partnering closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Raw & Packaging (R&P) Procurement teams globally.

If you are results-driven, thrive in complex matrix environments, and are energized by building something new with real strategic impact — this role is for you.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for all transport modes (road, air, sea) serving manufacturing sites and CMO partners, covering raw materials, packaging materials, inter-plant transfers, and CMO inbound/outbound flows

  • Build and own the sourcing strategy for this newly consolidated manufacturing logistics and customs category — defining scope, mapping spend, and establishing a global procurement framework

  • Lead global RFIs/RFPs and contract negotiations for manufacturing logistics services and customs brokerage

  • Anticipate and consolidate business needs across manufacturing sites and CMO networks to carry out negotiations at global level

  • Deliver savings pipeline in line with strategic plan expectations and ensure proper P&L acknowledgement by Finance

  • Ensure procurement technical excellence across the category: TCO analysis, SRM, Market Intelligence, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, and Compliance

Customs Management & Trade Compliance

  • Build and develop global customs brokerage as a newly established procurement category, defining the strategy, supplier landscape, and sourcing approach from the ground up

  • Design and lead the global sourcing strategy for customs brokerage services, consolidating fragmented local arrangements into a coherent, globally managed category

  • Conduct market intelligence on customs brokerage providers, identifying opportunities for supplier consolidation, cost optimization, and service standardization

  • Lead global RFPs and negotiations for customs brokerage services, establishing global framework agreements with regional implementation

  • Develop category expertise in trade compliance, duty optimization, and customs regulations to inform sourcing strategies and supplier selection criteria

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal to assess the procurement impact of Incoterm structures across manufacturing and CMO flows, driving strategic recommendations

CMO and Manufacturing Logistics Mapping & Optimization

  • Understand and map all manufacturing logistics flows — from suppliers and CMOs to manufacturing plants and distribution centers — including logistics centers used for storage and dispatch

  • Work hand in hand with the Supply Chain, internal manufacturing and CMO organization to design optimal logistics models, including business cases for Incoterm changes with key suppliers or R&P products

  • Ensure exhaustive and accurate business cases as well as change management strategies when logistics model changes are proposed

  • Identify and implement cost-to-serve improvements across the manufacturing logistics network

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Run a robust SRM program with key logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers

  • Conduct regular business reviews and manage supplier performance against agreed KPIs

  • Build strong, sustainable partnerships with strategic suppliers in collaboration with the global procurement network

Cross-Functional Project Management & Business Partnering

  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, CMO, GBU, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Procurement teams to align logistics strategies with operational needs

  • Support CMO logistics coordination, including cost optimization, service level management, and onboarding of new supply chain partnerships

  • Ensure consistency, communication, and integration within the business and the procurement network

  • Present procurement strategies and business cases to key internal stakeholders and senior leadership

  • Actively support business partnering activities at corporate level, with global functions and global Business Units

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks related to manufacturing logistics and customs operations

  • Develop and maintain business continuity plans for critical manufacturing supply flows

  • Ensure compliance with Sanofi's procurement policies, ethics standards, and audit requirements

  • Conduct compliance sanity checks and support pre/post-audit management activities

  • Participate in regular training sessions related to audit and regulatory requirements

About You:

  • Track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Knowledge of manufacturing supply chain dynamics and CMO operations; pharmaceutical industry experience is a strong advantage

Soft Skills
