Sanofi Vaccines is the Global Business Unit (GBU) of Sanofi responsible for Vaccines and prophylactic treatments for infectious diseases.

This position is responsible for leading the Sanofi Vaccines Gulf and KSA MCO medical New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED activities and to develop, lead and implement the country clinical and medical strategic plans across the pre-launch, launch and life cycle phase of Sanofi Gulf and KSA MCO – New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED vaccine products; aligned with business objectives and priorities working in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

This person will be expected to drive medical activities for New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED, including Hexaxim, Tetraxim, Pentaxim and Adacel, and Menactra among others.

In the day-to-day business the person will build strategic plans, supervise the implementation and execution of the medical plans across a range of countries on the Gulf and KSA MCO Area. Will build external partnership with communicable diseases experts/ health care agencies/ regulatory agencies/ institutions and medical/ scientific organizations.

Job Responsibilities:

Medical Strategy

  • Define Gulf and KSA MCO New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED Franchises medical strategy with special focus on prioritized strategic evidence generation plans, aligned with MCO, Regional priorities and Global Franchises’ strategy.
  • Lead and consolidate the required medical information and activities to develop robust and comprehensive Gulf and KSA MCO New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED actions aligned with local objectives and priorities.
  • Proactively identify emerging trends, integrate them into Gulf and KSA MCO New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED Franchises’ strategies for launch and life cycle management and assessment of public market access/ private market needs

Medical Action Plan

  • Prepare and execute the Gulf and KSA MCO countries medical action plans for New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED products and contribute to the elaboration of the Gulf and KSA MCO countries’ medical action plan and execute scientific meetings with local experts (e.g., advocacy boards, clinical research updates, masterclasses).
  • Work in collaboration with the different functions (e.g., marketing and sales, regulatory, public affairs, key account management, pharmacovigilance) at Global, Regional or Country level

Quality of medical deliverables:

  • Ensure the quality of all the local medical deliverables in accordance with regulations, Sanofi Group and Sanofi SOPs, protocols & quality systems.
  • Support the preparation and perform the medical validation of Gulf and KSA MCO countries promotional materials developed by the country's teams.

Build strong External Medical and Scientific relationship:

  • Identification and management of external key opinion leaders (KOLs) that will help advocate the public health need of New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED portfolio.
  • Interact with the different KOLs and other medical specialists, facilitating scientific exchange.
  • Build and maintain good relationship and partnership of Sanofi with external stakeholders and institutions.
  • Generate clinical and epidemiological evidence in close collaboration with external investigators.
  • Participate and represent the company, in local Medical Meetings / Symposia and International Congresses with expositions and presentations.
  • Engage with KOLs and Health Authorities (MOH and State Health Department) to expand vaccination programs.
  • Provide scientific/medical input and insights to marketing and sales colleagues to maximize asset value based aligned with Franchise medical strategies.
  • Enable doctors and KOLs to have comprehensive inform on respiratory Portfolio and to develop strong and efficient relationships with stakeholders.
  • Identification of KOLs to create broad speaker list in Gulf and KSA MCO countries.

Internal Medical Training

  • Promote and develop a high-level knowledge and competencies regarding medical aspects of Sanofi products in collaboration with Gulf and KSA MCO medical affairs team.
  • Responsible for regular New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED medical trainings of sales force and other internal stakeholders, provide and contribute to training activities, with regards to product specifications and general issues regarding vaccines to achieve and maintain a high level of vaccinology knowledge.
  • Monitor and implement assessment tools to ensure product & medical knowledge of sales force and make sure of the alignment of the sales force with the company's strategy.
  • Support the preparation of Training Kits for New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED Sanofi products in collaboration with Regional Disease Experts

Clinical Research

  • Manage the Implementation of clinical / epidemiological Gulf and KSA MCO countries’ New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED studies at local level and support the monitoring and control of the research projects starting from the preparation of the files, inform the results of the research, collect them into a written form, manage the execution of the research, according to the company's guidelines, local regulation & ethical rules.
  • Share and disclose outcome from company-sponsored studies that contribute to medical education and scientific exchange associated with Sanofi’s vaccine New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED franchises and public health impact.

Publications

  • Provide input regarding country’s needs for the definition of the country publication plan.
  • Be the contact person for country medical affairs regarding all publications for the products in charge.

Medical enquiries

  • Manage documented answers to all questions coming from HCPs, Patients & Sales Force      through the different channels (Phone, reports, …).
  • Support the content preparation of all medical communication media (paper, digital,) and secure the update process of the medical information.

Foster and encourage strong cross functional collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Demonstrating medical leadership and partnership.
  • Work in collaboration with the different functions (e.g., marketing and sales, regulatory, public affairs, key account management, pharmacovigilance) at Global, Regional or Country level in the definition and implementation of the strategy.
  • Provide scientific/medical input and insights to marketing and sales colleagues to maximize asset value based aligned with New Products and Innovation (NPI) and PMED Franchises medical strategies.
  • Provide and contribute to training activities, with regards to product specifications and general issues regarding vaccines to achieve and maintain a high level of vaccinology knowledge.

Medical governance

  • Ensure culture and systems enhance medical governance and compliance with Sanofi and Sanofi Vaccines principles and processes, and applicable external regulations.
  • Ensures governance processes for iEGP/ iSCP/ in accordance with Sanofi and Sanofi Vaccines processes.

Responsibility and accountability for the financial management and reporting requirements for this medical function, including supporting the Finance reporting process with accurate and timely data and assumptions as needed to support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning for the Gulf and KSA MCO.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Medical Degree preferable.
  • At least 3- 5 years’ experience in medical activities or other aspects of the life sciences in Saudi Arabia
  • Highly team oriented with outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with other groups,
  • Strong commitment to maintaining the highest ethical, regulatory, and scientific standards is required.
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficient in public speaking, with demonstrated strength in interacting with external stakeholders (health authorities, scientific medical societies etc.
  • Based in Riyadh.
  • Previous experience in Saudi market is an asset
