About the Job
Join the team transforming care for people with immune challenges, rare diseases, cancers, and neurological conditions. In Specialty Care, you’ll help deliver breakthrough treatments that bring hope to patients with some of the highest unmet needs.
This is a strategic, senior-level role embedded within the Canadian Vaccines commercial team, responsible for leading market access and health economics strategy across public and private markets. The incumbent will serve as the primary in-house expert on health economic value narratives, provincial immunization program strategy, and access stakeholder engagement.
This role is critical to capturing current and future access opportunities across the evolving Canadian immunization landscape, and to supporting a robust pre-launch access strategy for the vaccines pipeline.
The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy while serving as a key cross-functional contributor across vaccines Franchises, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, Sales, and Commercial Operations.
Main Responsibilities:
A. Current Priorities
- Lead the identification and assessment of access opportunities within public and private markets, in the context of evolving provincial immunization programs and define clear paths forward for the vaccines portfolio
- Define and lead access strategy across the vaccines portfolio, ensuring alignment with brand objectives, the broader Canadian market access framework and vaccines global market access teams
- Coordinate dossier submissions in partnership with Public Affairs and Market Access colleagues (e.g., Private Payer Lead), ensuring quality, timeliness, and strategic coherence
- Lead the development of comprehensive value narratives for provincial immunization program adoption, expansion, and maintenance — integrating unmet need, clinical evidence, and economic value arguments
- Serve as the in-house strategic resource for brand team discussions on health economic opportunities and modelling; work with external agencies to adapt and localize models to Canadian national and provincial contexts, and act as primary contact with global vaccines HEVA team
- Develop nuanced, province-specific access strategies for individual vaccines, balancing the distinct policy, epidemiological, and economic environments of each jurisdiction
- Engage directly with key provincial stakeholders to advance immunization program conversations and build productive, long-term access relationships
- Partner with the Pricing & Contracting vaccines team to contribute to pricing strategies and to the vaccines access and procurement environment (e.g. through RFI)
B. Future / Pre-Launch Planning (2027–2029)
- Lead pre-launch access planning including patient journey mapping, identification of must-win access milestones, and early assessment of potential access roadblocks
- Identify existing and necessary funding pathways and procurement processes at federal and provincial levels to ensure readiness ahead of launch
- Develop and maintain comprehensive access stakeholder maps at federal and provincial levels for both public and private market opportunities, in partnership with field teams
- Develop tailored value messages for key vaccines access stakeholders (PHAC, PSPC, provincial immunization program decision makers,…), adapted to the specific priorities and decision-making frameworks of each audience
- Support submissions to NITAGs (National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups) in partnership with Medical Affairs
- Support private payer submissions in partnership with the Private Payer Lead through the critical 2027–2029 launch planning period
- Drive forward program adoption through strategic engagement, evidence-based value communication, and proactive relationship management with public health authorities
