KEY DIMENSIONS: SCOPE & SCALE

  • Scope corresponds to ALGERIA market with required interaction with external stakeholders including but not limited to Ministry of Health, Local Partners, all other external relevant parties. It also require internal collaboration and alignement with different department such as Public Affairs, Market Access, Supply, Vaccines Medical, Sales & Franchises Team. This job also requires frequent interactions with Africa Strategic Partnership Head in charge of International Funded Public Markets (IFPM).
  • Role aims at developing local partnership to strengthen Sanofi position as Public Health Partners and may refer to  MAMPs (Market Access Manufacturing Partnerships), Distribution Partnerships or Partnerships with the Govermental Units depending on the MCO &/or country contex.
  • The Strategic Partnership Lead is a member of Algeria Vaccines LT.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

“Localization” Responsibilities

  • Lead the business alliance processes and partners, keep track of their performance and create improvement plans when necessary
  • Lead the shaping and execution of MAMPS arrangements in Algeria.
  • Ensure the supply commitments are met by local Partners.
  • Coordinate the operation at industrial alliances (contracted manufacturing) in-line with commercial priorities and in accordance with Sanofi Vaccines Technical Requirements for all local market products
  • Secure Sanofi Vaccines' business/commercial objectives; management of alliances, monitoring of the performance through KPI, the management of issues and risks that may arise and working with partners under close collaboration.
  • Coordinate the implementation of all local manufacturing activities (including but not limited to filling, packaging, re-packaging, shipment packaging etc). Validate it with the stakeholders; Vaccines Africa , Vaccines Global and the subcontractor. Ensure all processes related to these activities are done according to agreed technical and quality specifications.
  • Ensure the commercial/business objectives are met appropriately: Participate to the supply planning for public market products where local industrial operation is applicable and provide accurate estimation for the operation timelines and guidance about applicability of the manufacturing operation at local level according to supply plan.
  • Ensure the timely and proper flow of information between the internal and external stakeholders regarding Industrial Operation
  • Provide regular follow up of performance of the alliance. Follow-up KPIs for local activities. Coordinate the necessary improvement actions with the subcontractors to ensure targeted KPIs are reached. Optimize the processes for improving efficiency. Support the process when there is a need to find a new subcontractor for manufacturing operations
  • Support for the new tender processes such as reviewing the tender specifications in technical aspect with Public sales Manager, giving feedback about the applicability of delivery schedule acc. to supply plan and local partners' activities
  • Coordinate the local projects at subcontractor level and follow-up the activities including planning and cross-functional liaison between internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate strategic production of Bulk and semi finished products and primary + secondary packaging materials with Headquarter, with CMO, with third-party Suppliers
  • Coordinate timelines of supply – production – delivery to MoH
  • Ensure production in CMO to be aligned with tender specifications, Supply Chain in France, Finance teams targets and local MOH.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS 

  • Experience in leading portfolio in scope with cross internal and external team
    • Important internal and external relations
    • All business, industrial and support functions
  • Experience in leading complex project teams involving all business, industrial and support functions.
  • Experience in market access is highly recommended
  • In-depth understanding of the Vaccines market and its local ecosystem, competition and future trends, and good understanding of our value chain
  • Knowledge of the Regulatory environment in Algeria is a major asset
  • Glocal thinking: able to understand the global framework combined with local execution.
  • Ability to take data-driven decisions based on customer needs.
  • People leadership : Ability to coach, develop and manage feedback effectively.
  • Empowerment: Delegation, giving responsibility and lead trustfully
  • Ability to manage relationships across various stakeholders
  • Role model of PTW behaviours.

CRITICAL EXPERIENCES REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE (detailed)

  • Solid experience in the Pharmaceutical industry
  • Negotiation skills notably with existing external partnerships/ Alliances. 
  • P&L understanding,
  • Highly complex project management,
  • Track record in strategic and implementation
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills as well as influence, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Fluent in English and local language when needed
