Senior Fixed Asset Accountant

This position will play a key role ensuring for CHC A2R GL accounting process is running both local and GBS level.

Main Purpose of the Job

  • Perform the recording & booking activities 

  • Participate in different activities relating to fixed asset life cycle

  • Perform asset depreciation (including tangible, intangible, finance, leases under IFRS 16)  and valuation, inventory valuation and month end reporting

  • Contribute to periodic reviews of asset impairment and inventory follow-up

  • Contribute to inventory costing and valuation and calculate inventory depreciation

  • Run reports for monthly closing.  Reconciliation of transactions:

  • Contribute to month end closure relating to fixed assets and inventory and prepare related reporting

  • Coordinate stock-count activities

  • Address operational issues and follow through to resolution in an effective and timely manner

  • Monitor operational KPIs and compliance with Sanofi policies and guidelines

  • Drive continuous improvement

For the principle-to-end process of tangible fixed assets, it contributes to: 

  • Creation, reception and capitalization of assets.

  • Adjusting the value of the asset when receiving the invoice.

  • Depreciation and impairment of assets.

  • Asset disposal: asset sale, asset scrapping, asset transfer.

  • Capital lease.

  • Asset grants.

  • Inventory tracking.

  • Preparatory closing activities.

Expected Skills

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics or equivalent

  • 1-2 years experience in closing and reporting preferably in an international multicultural environment

  • Sufficient knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs

  • Hands on expertise in GL accounting, closing & reporting processes and activities

  • Strong deductive and analytical skills

  • Hands on knowledge of SAP ERP and other accounting applications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel

  • Team player, able to work collaboratively transversally and with A2R front line teams with an end to end mindset

  • Good communication skills

  • Attentive to customer needs and feedback

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and structure the tasks

  • Attentive to detail and works with precision

  • Action oriented, delivery driven

  • Fluency in English mandatory and other European languages are desirable
