Reporting to the Global Head of Organizational Change & Readiness this position is responsible for oversight and guidance for enterprise-wide Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) in partnership with Organizational Development partners who will execute SWP across the Global Business Units (GBUs) and Global Functions (GFs). The incumbent will establish and monitor Strategic Workforce Plans that define and enable Sanofi’s journey towards establishing competitive advantage through critical organizational capabilities.

The Strategic Workforce Planning Lead will oversee and/or support the end-to-end SWP process and operational implementation of SWP efforts to enable Sanofi’s GBUs and GFs to achieve their strategic ambitions. This incumbent will also lead the preparation and development of SWP assets/materials based on defined approach, manage and monitor workforce plans, and suggest reinforcements to support the actions required. As a member of the People & Culture Strategy and Portfolio CoE, the incumbent will be expected to work in close partnership with the business leaders and the rest of the P&C community, including the Global Head of Capability Operations to ensure SWP is aligned with skills and capabilities taxonomies and technologies.

The incumbent will be strategic, knowledgeable about people & culture (human resources), organizational development, strategic workforce planning methodology, process, implementation, and monitoring. Previous experience in global, regional, and country roles is highly preferred.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders - Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with key P&C and business resources to understand the business’ strategic goals and translate them into actionable workforce plans that support the company's overall objectives.

  • Collaborate with Heads of Organization Development – Partner and work closely with Heads of Organization Development in the Global Business Units (GBUs) and Global Functions (GFs) to establish credible strategic workforce plans, accurately project supply and demand, and build iterative organizations that will help achieve the company's 2030 ambition.

  • Develop and Implement Strategic Workforce Plans – Partner with key P&C resources to develop and build comprehensive workforce plans that align with the company's long-term ambitions, talent pipeline, and competitive forces, ensuring the organization is well-positioned for future growth.

  • Assist in Development of Implementation Plans - Collaborate with the Global Head of Organization Design and the Global Head of Organization Change & Readiness to develop robust implementation plans that are aligned with overall corporate goals and transformation initiatives.

  • Analyze Workforce Data and Trends – Work closely with People Insights to conduct holistic analyses of workforce data and trends to forecast future workforce needs, identify gaps, and develop strategies to address those gaps effectively.

  • Identify and Mitigate Workforce Planning Risks - Identify and notify key partners to potential risks related to workforce planning, such as skill shortages and talent pipeline issues, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.

  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Develop and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of workforce planning initiatives, ensuring they deliver the desired outcomes and support the company's strategic objectives.

  • Integrate SWP with other P&C COEs - Collaborate with other Centers of Excellence (COEs), such as Talent & Learning, to ensure a comprehensive view of strategic workforce planning, including skills development, talent management, demand planning, and succession pipeline utilization.

  • Leverage Existing Technology - Partner with the People & Culture (P&C) Technology Strategy team to leverage existing technology solutions that drive and support strategic workforce planning efforts.

  • Leverage and Improve SWP Methodology - Utilize existing Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) methodologies and continuously improve them for greater simplification and efficiency, ensuring they remain relevant and effective.

  • Assist in developing SWP Capabilities across the P&C Community - Build and enhance Strategic Workforce Planning capabilities within the broader People & Culture community, including People Business Partners, to ensure workforce planning decisions are made effectively and close to the right business leaders.

  • Stay Abreast of Industry Trends - Continuously monitor industry trends and best practices in workforce planning, incorporating relevant insights into the company's strategy to maintain a competitive edge.

About You:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience, ideally with experience working on strategic workforce planning initiatives

  • A blend of consulting and/or in-house/industry work experience preferred.

  • Highly knowledgeable in organizational design, organizational development methodologies and tools

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with business acumen, to deliver clear stories and PowerPoint/slides production.

  • Experienced or open to learn about technology, AI, and a data-driven decision maker; experience with organization modelling tools a plus

  • Proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization including senior leadership teams

  • Ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and to build and maintain strong relationships with key local and global stakeholders.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal English) to clearly articulate key messages to a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to practice efficient time management and coordinate tasks, working in an international environment across time zones.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, psychology, or human resources ideal; advanced degrees in industrial/organizational psychology a plus

  • Fluent in English; French is a plus.
