About the Opportunity

An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen within Opella as a HSE Head in industrial site.

You will be responsible for driving a HSE culture program to embed a safety mindset at all levels and driving performance excellence. 

Key responsibilities

Co-ordination of all safety and environmental activities at a manufacturing industrial site

Managing a group of two people in a department

Ensures the implementation and follow up of the health, safety and environmental policies at Opella for all employees at the Rzeszow site, including:

  • initiates activities to avoid accidents at work and occupational diseases
  • provides opinions, justifies and submits health and safety and environmental proposals to the Plant Director
  • assures the setting up, managing and controlling the implementation for safety, health and industrial hygiene rules and procedures resulting from law and the company's internal guidelines (Opella's Safety and Environmental Department) for the plant's employees as well as the employees of external companies working on the site
  •   contributes to raising the competence and awareness of employees with regard to the compliance of their performance with the Environmental, Health and Safety Policy and the procedures and requirements of the Integrated Environmental, Health and Safety Management System
  • directly or indirectly carries out safety audits and inspections in all departments and oversees the implementation of any corrective and preventive actions
  • co-operates in the handling of health, safety and environmental projects for the analysis and elimination of occupational hazards.
  • provides induction training on health and safety at work and fire protection

 Interacting with the social labour inspector, occupational physician  and the company trade unions on measures to improve working conditions

About You

To excel in this role you will need to have:

  • University degree

  • Experience: A minimum of 3  years experience on managerial position connected with HSE, experience from an international company would be a strong plus

  • Team management skills

  • Ability to build good relations with employees, communication skills, conscientiousness, reliability and accuracy.

  • Participation in HSE-related projects

  • Knowledge of labour law, health and safety regulations and environmental protection

  • Requirements for qualification for the occupational health and safety service – as plus

  • Qualifications of a fire protection inspector – as a plus

  • Good English language skills, Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excel, Power point
