Job Title: Field Reimbursement Manager- Rare Blood Disorders, Patient Support Services, Midwest

Location: Detroit, MI / Indianapolis, IN / Knoxville, TN / Nashville, TN

About the job

We are an innovative global healthcare company, committed to transforming the lives of people with immune challenges, rare diseases and blood disorders, cancers, and neurological disorders. From R&D to sales, our talented teams work together, revolutionizing treatment, continually improving products, understanding unmet needs, and connecting communities. We chase the miracles of science every single day, pursuing progress to make a real impact on millions of patients around the world.

Sanofi, an innovative global healthcare company, is driven by one purpose: we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. Our team, across some 100 countries, is dedicated to transforming the practice of medicine by working to turn the impossible into the possible. We provide potentially life-changing treatment options and life-saving vaccine protection to millions of people globally, while putting sustainability and social responsibility at the center of our ambitions.

The specialty care business unit of Sanofi focuses on rare diseases, rare blood disorders, multiple sclerosis, oncology, and immunology. We help people with debilitating and complex conditions that are often difficult to diagnose and treat. Our approach is shaped by our experience developing highly specialized treatments and forging close relationships with physician and patient communities. We are dedicated to discovering and advancing new therapies, providing hope to patients and their families around the world.

The Rare Blood Disorder franchise is a patient centric organization responsible for delivering the highest quality education and service regarding disease and treatment.  The goal of the franchise is to penetrate existing and new markets to meet business goals by educating physicians and healthcare professionals on a portfolio of products while upholding the Company's mission and values.

The Rare Blood Disorders reimbursement environment for specialty biologics has proven to be highly challenging for Health Care Providers (HCPs) and Patients. Payer medical and pharmacy Utilization Management (UM) criteria create process delays for patients like required Benefits Investigations (BI), Prior Authorization (PA), Denial Appeals, detailed Clinical Documentation, and Peer to Peer reviews. Assisting HCPs and Patients to gain access to prescribed treatments requires dedicated and knowledgeable customer facing support. This support is provided by our Field Reimbursement Management team.

The FRM team is a critical front-line member of the Sanofi Rare Blood Disorder Patient Access and Reimbursement team. The primary purpose of this role is to provide information and education to support HCP offices and patients in obtaining appropriate access to Sanofi products. Goals include education of patient affordability offerings, and a strong understanding of the patient support programs of Sanofi. FRMs support the company and divisional reimbursement strategy, and this position also requires the ability to successfully navigate working across multiple internal and external stakeholders, and program vendors to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • FRMs will be subject matter experts on Sanofi’s rare blood disorder patient support programs, payer claim processes, billing and coding education, access issue resolution, financial assistance and alternative funding options provided by our patient support program.
  • Develop effective business plans to execute brand strategies that are consistent with corporate brand and marketing plans and are tailored to geography and customer context.
  • Coordinate all business activities and drive results within geographic area of responsibility. Ensure effective execution of Sanofi strategies and tactics within assigned geographic area.
  • Establish and maintain knowledge on the local and national payer landscape, including Specialty Pharmacy and Utilization Management criteria for assigned products.
  • Monitor commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid communications on coverage, coding, and payment
  • Partner with internal and external colleagues to create a culture of respect and prioritization of products
  • Educate office personnel on appropriate billing information including approved codes for approved uses, medical & pharmacy benefits, patient support program offerings.
  • Establish relationships within targeted healthcare provider offices to assist HCPs in resolving payer coverage issues that may be barriers to Sanofi product access in a manner that complies with all company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure training is completed and demonstrate appropriate clinical knowledge of the respective products
  • Manage and adhere to all company policies and Legal and Regulatory guidelines.
  • Uphold and exemplify Sanofi’s core values.
